No it is common knowledge that people like you love to repeat the same thing they heard. Don't give me he sparred with Tyson all the time and didn't get knocked down. They wear head gear and use bigger gloves when they spar. Also in sparring once Tyson was knocked down or out by Michael Williams. Show me a fight where McCall is getting hit over and over with power punches. Usually when he got hit he would cover up and move. Lennox Lewis hurt him badly with a punch at maybe 1:10 left in the 3rd. Lewis was backing away and not really committing to his punches because he didn't want to get KO'ed again. But if you want to use Lewis not knocking down McCall as proof of his chin. Well Lewis didn't hurt or knockout a washed up Holyfield. Bert Cooper hurt Holyfield badly. Foreman was able to hurt him and so was Stewart. Not saying McCall had a bad chin but wanna be boxing experts and people like you who will just repeat whatever they hear overrate his chin. Tyson in a actual boxing match would of stopped McCall. So would Foreman or other guys with a big punch who have a chin and are willing to commit to their power. Either he would be knocked down or stopped on his feet.
Actually, McCall had a great chin. Not sure why you're so hung up on the fact that people say McCall has a great chin when, in fact, he has a great chin.
No you see McCall didn't keep his gloves down and let people tee off on him at all times thus is chin is clearly overrated.
It's not a paid class, do your own research and watch more fights. I'm not going to search the links for you.
Don King was McCall's promoter and had faced calls to remove him from the fight after he was arrested in December 1996 for going beserk in a hotel - the third time he had been arrested in 1996 in a year he had also been to rehab twice - yet King insisted McCall would be ready for the fight and there was no need to replace him. King may not have been promoting the fight but he was responible for getting McCall to it, and if McCall was in no fit state to compete then King should have left him in rehab and found a replacement as he was asked to in December 96.
I found this fight exceedingly sad ... seeing McCall break down like that inside the ring. Hope he's doing better these days.
One of the black pages of heavyweight boxing history when it comes to licensing boxers for big fights that shouldn't ever have given clearance.
