Nice Avatar, Anyway, I think Lewis can be a potential problem for any and every all time great. No, I do not necessarily think that he beats ALL of them ALL the time, but he certainly has the ability to. Even with the Rahaman and McCall defeats looming over his head, he would still be a force to be reckoned with no matter who he fought.
Janitor gave balanced and insightful predictions. While I may differ slightly in opinion, I do account for the high level at which these fights are fought and agree with Janitor on the difficulty involved in making an exact forecast. I absolutely concur with Janitor's position on this. I think Ali's movement will put Lennox on the front foot. He would then try to outbox him and be completely successful, if not for the moments Lewis goes to disrupt his rhythm with that pole-like jab. The key for the bigger fellow is to jab with Ali as I think that jabbing, or throwing single straight punches, while Ali is on the move will produce little success. In clinches, Lewis would have the upperhand, but Ali's own strength would at the very least ensure that activity is kept at a minimum. Saying this, Lewis has a chance to maybe hurt him with the odd uppercut or hook. After 12 or 15 rounds, Muhammad would most likely have a unanimous decision in his favor, but it will be close and very awkward for him. Again I see Lewis on the attack. It's not necessarily a bad strategy. He is afterall the bigger and stronger individual, and this time around he is faced with person who is not particularly known as a mover. I think it is inevitable that Lewis rocks Joe at some point, but what Louis was good at was fighting back, countering while his opponent threw punches. He's fought bigger men before, and though he's never dealt with a man of Lewis' size and skill, it was not exactly the style to trouble him (unless you want to make a comparison with Schmeling which interestingly enough might be valid). Can Louis win a slugfest against this giant? I believe so. He will be much belabored by fight's end, but I think he will emerge the victor. For my prediction, I have Joe knocking Lewis out in the eighth stanza, but I'll add that it is not at all unreasonable for Lennox to win the fight. Honestly, the Brit has too much tools for the Rock. I would install Lewis as a very heavy favorite, and if the referee doesn't stop the fight due to cuts, Lewis knocks him out outright. However, if McCall and Rahman was able to famously catch lightning in a bottle against Lewis, I guess it is not beyond the realm of possibility for Rocky to do the same supposing that Lennox comes in ill-prepared and fights lazily. I've argued for either one in the past, but more often than not I side with the Lion. Holmes could box Lewis' ears off sure, but Lennox has shown numbing power with his right hand, and it is this that I think of when picking him; not the type of force that will knock Larry down mind- he's too durable for that- but the type to make him stop, take punches, and then maybe fight more recklessly after. When I picture Lewis winning, this always springs first to mind. The Lion rallies hard to eke out a split decision if the fight is over 12. Over 15, it's too close to call and this time Larry might be the one to rally to a win, though he's up against a tougher man than Norton so he'd be hard-pressed to pull it off.

So Lewis TKOs/KOs just about any ATG HW...wow. In his fights agianst good boxers with good chins Lewis always went the whole 12 rounds:Tua, HolyfieldX2, Mercer, Mavrovic. Due to his size and skills he will win a UD against most of them and even knock most of the small HW of the bygone eras but with his questionable chin everything is possible.

I can see Holmes winning, but if it goes to a slugfest, i'd back the guy with more power and strength. Holmes is more durable, but despite that, i think he lacks the firepower to hang in there in a slugfest. He's a smart boxer though, i think he'd try to stick and move.
Me too. In fact, as you said, I think he losses a slugfest, he'd be trying to avoid that scenario like the plague.

I'm too lazy to lay it all out. but I see Lewis possibly lossing to Ali & Holmes, and I think he would have a 50-50% chance against Tyson and Liston. And even though I rate Louis ahead of Ali on the ATG list, I don't think he has the size to beat Lewis. Wildcard upsets would include Foreman, Dempey and Louis and WK. But make no mistake, Lewis had the tools to potentially beat them all.
You actually think a prime Lewis would loose to Vitali ? One has to assume you don't like the guy for some reason.
Fair assumption, but I though Vitali was on his way to doing it when he was young and Lewis was old. I think Prime versions are similar and Vitali gets the job done.
