Lewis vs Tyson circa 1996

    I read somewhere that there was a possible Tyson/ Lewis showdown as early as 1996. Had they fought at that time, could Lewis have been successful?

    More competitive because Lewis was less cautious. For that same reason, Mike gets knocked out in 5. Prime Mike is an entirely different story.

    Lewis would have knocked him out at that point, possibly sooner due to necessity.

    Styles play a big part here. Even at his best, Tyson never lost that amateur habit of dropping his left after throwing the jab. It's a gift for Lennox. He doesn't even need to get in Tyson's range, just draw the lead and pot shot.
    Lewis was always a bad match for Mike.
