Just watched the fight, just a message to all you lewis bumnuts.tyson had only fought 19 rounds in the previous five years, was'nt interested or motivated and still lasted 8 rounds...yet lewis' fans claim this to be one of if not his best victory...in my own opinion the outcome of this fight would have definately have been different had it been the 86-88 tyson (ko4)...the 'best' tyson beats the 'best' lewis...listen to foreman through the commentry constantly commenting on lewis' holding...wladmir klithead fights in exactly the same way,any sign of danger holds and throw his head over the other guys shoulder....(i am british)just in case....
Tyson was shot to **** in that fight, he landed maybe one punch that got Lewis' attention... hee was holding Tyson, because that's what Manny Steward told him to do, anyway, Tyson kept coming straight into Lewis, that's why there was all that holding in the later rounds Lewis jabbed the **** out of Mike, throwing in some vicious right hands from time to time if Lewis had faced the 86-88 version of Tyson, he'd have a nightmare especially in the first few rounds
Although Mike was totally shot Lewis was also past his best at this time and only fought once more (and we all know what happened there). Prime Tyson KTFO Prime Lennox in 3 rounds max
I agree with near enough everything you guys are saying apart from the fact lewis being past it,i would say that was the best shape lewis was ever in(he knew tyson was shot to pieces as did everyone else and seized his oppitunity)and certainly at the peak of his powers.people like to refuse to how great tyson actually was, saying he never beat an atg but in my own humble opinion that 20 years old tyson would beat any heavyweight h2h.it was not is fault he was head and shoulders above every other fighter in his prime, it one thing saying they lost before the fight started but then it's actually going in there and finishing them off and nobody before or since has been as devastating and spectacular.....
