How do you manage to cross the road without getting run over by a bus?

    That's what intrigues me.

Did it ever occur to you that Steward had to work with what Lewis had ? At the time Lewis was training to the level of Kirk Johnson! Steward tried to do the best out of the situation. No trainer in the world is gonna admit before the fight that their fighter is not in proper shape!

Of course, Steward would have liked Lewis to come in tip top shape. Which trainer would not??? This means more stamina, more speed and more accuracy. Your whole point is completely unreasonable.

This must now been clear, even for you.

Of course we will never know, the difference is I don't call those who disagree with me stupid, brain dead morons ,imbeciles, or make sarcastic remarks about them like calling them a genius. Neither of them are my favourites. It's glaringly obvious that Lewis thought he was gong to breeze through Kirk Johnson didn't train as he should have and was carrying too much weight for Vitali,he didn't know that he was fighting him until2 weeks before hand so to suggest that it was part of an overall strategy to come in at a career high weight is patently absurd and I think you know that yourself! You're critiquing my posts when you've totally exposed yourself here as a fan boy clutching at straws as to why Lewis was 256.5lbs!Suggesting it was part of a cunning plan! Arrogant ,condescending and just plain in denial!

If they hit you in the head with a plank your intelligence would be improved by virtue of a random configuration of brain cells being superior to whatever your current configuration is.

I completely agree with your post . In fact, you pretty much make the same points I made to that same poster.
The user uses some weird logic by suggesting that Lewis came in not properly prepared as to use his extra weight to his advantage. Just pure nonsense.

Im addition to his poor boxingknowledge, he likes to throw insults at anybody who does not agree with his nonsense.Just a clown in my opinion.

Lennox Lewis knew better, which is why he retired. He tried to make fights with easier men ( Roy Jones, Kirk Johnson ) And he ran his mouth. But when the WBC ordered the rematch, he quickly retired. Not even a 16-18 He had a 16-18 million-dollar purse could change his mind. This indicates to me he knew he would likely lose the rematch.

Vitali, who took the fight on less than 2 weeks notice ( He was preparing for a 10 round match vs. a no name ) was up 4-2 on all three score cards, and Lewis was very tired after the 6th. this means Lewis would need to win 4 of the next 6 rounds on at least two cards to get a draw.

The cut, which could have been caused by an illegal backhand by Lewis' glove over Vitali's eye region meant everything in this fight.

Lewis was the one in denial after the fight. It is way when he loses or looks bad, history shows us this. NO debate about that!

Here's what I don't understand. Some say Lewis who was 37 was too old. Okay, suppose he was? How in the heck do the people who say this think he would win the match 6-12 months later? If just does not wash!

Maybe he could get to 250. Did losing weight help Bowe vs Golota in the re-match? Did Ali getting into fighting weight help him vs Holmes?

A cut like is very rare in boxing, and Vitali only had one bad cut his entire career. According to him this includes boxing and kickboxing. Without the cut, and 6 month -12 months older, plus Vitlai training for 12 instead of 10 round's and likely being the hungrier fighter in the game, Lennox is going to lose.

His excuse that his wife forced the retirement is bunk, as Lewis tried hard to make a match with Roy Jones, and Kirk Johnson.
