Thats fine. Im just looking at the evidence. Not trying to debate im just trying to list my reasons I think Lewis would have beat Vitali was because imo those cuts weren't luck. Vitali received not one, not two, but three giant cuts on his face in different spots. I dont think thats luck. I think it points to the conclusion that Vitali's skin wasn't durable enough to endure a multitude of power punches from Lewis. And in the hypothetical rematch Vitali would come in with a LOT of scar tissue from the first fight. And scar tissue is weaker than skin. Vitali will always be a hard fight for Lewis but Lewis himself underestimated Vitali and took him on a 2 weeks notice and he was a bit out of shape. I think if they fought in the rematch Lewis would do much better and the score cards would be closer. And because of all of this i believe Lewis would have just stopped Vitali on cuts again.
3 cuts, on different parts of Vitalis face, and he received them when Lewis started fighting aggressively
It all started with the one cut that impeded his vision. If the issue was that clear cut and the result not in doubt, then Lewis would have rematched Vitali and whooped him. As it was he hung up his gloves instead of continuing boxing, and that from a guy that said he was still going to be around for years. Lewis' own actions tell the story of who would have won. Now, granted, Lewis was getting on in years, so maybe he was wise not to rematch Vitali and hand the torch over.
I dont know why he never rematched him. That will always haunt Lewis but to be real Vitali clearly had weak skin. 3 cuts aren't an accident. He got the first one when Lewis started fighting an agressive fight and the others were after. I just think the rematch would be stopped on cuts again had it happened.
