Lennox Lewis insists that David Haye should have at least one warm-up fight before facing either of the Klitschko brothers.

"There is a lot of money for him on the table and that is important for any fighter. All he has to do it is jump in there against one of the Klitschkos and take it, but he should have a couple of different fights first."
    Lennox Lewis

Full toe scan is also needed.

Haye doesn't take a warmup fight... not enough money on the line to take any kind of risk. He just wants another big payday and just hopes he gets lucky.

I'd take some easier big money fights if I were him. That way if he were to lose consecutively vs the K2, he'd likely still be in good position for the EBU or WBA kiddie titles.

I could see him fighting Fury, Dimitrenko, to prepare for Vitali, then taking that fight.
Both are good money makers and both position him for a later run towards a rematch with Wlad or a shot at the vacant WBC title once Vito is to retire.:thumbsup

Lewis is right. It's been known since the moment Vitali signed to fight Chisora, that Haye would be next in line. So why not, in the meantime, have a low-risk, keep-busy fight to prepare yourself? The fight won't take place until the end of the year, which means he'd have been inactive for about 15/16 months.

Haye can take all the tune-ups he wants, he's still not beating a Klitschko.

Haye is too slick for old Vitali. No tune up will change that

Unless multiple toe scans are 100% clean, there will be a great deal of difficulty getting the fight sanctioned outside of Kazakhstan, Bolivia or The Democratic Republic of the Congo.

If Haye was coming in to win, I'd agree with Lennox.
Since Daves non effort against Wlad, it's pretty obvious it's just a payday for the douchebag bigmouth.
All Haye needs to train for is 12 rounds of ducking , running and holding.

As others have said, no reason for a tune up, he isn't coming to "win"...he's just trying to get a check and not get KO'd.

Lennox asked Vitali to take numerous medical tests to triple-check if his cuts healed. The K brothers should demand a toe-test from Haye from three independent medical professionals. Just to make sure.

If u do too much toe probing, Haye's back will give out.
