6-0 are you high? It was at most 4-2 for Vitali, or 3-3 if you're being very critical. The only time you would mention 6 in this fight is TKO6. Btw... Tko6.
You should be directing those comments at Big Red, not me. I thought it was a very close fight, but Big Red had it 6-0 for Vitali prior to the stoppage. :rofl Not sure how you even go about debating someone so biased, probably a colossal waste of time.
I have a theory about things and I am sure down the road some people will say hey that big red was right. The masses are always wrong have always been wrong and will be wrong untill eterinity. If you see a line up with 50 people in it and another with 3, get in the line with 3. You don't even know who won which rounds of that fight you just go along with the Brits. You think because officially Lewis won the fight that I should think he won the fight?!? And because all the Britsh say he won I should listen to them?!? Lol, good luck with that but I will trust my own eyes.
I've seen some ******ed **** on these boards but this is a whole new level. I typed a lengthy reply then realised it's pointless trying to reason with someone so obviously ****ing stupid.
Why are the Brits even involved in this discussion? I know which rounds Lewis won the last two, and if someone gave him the 3rd I'd be okay with that as well. Hell half the discussion we've had has been about the 6th round and how close Vitali was to being stopped at the end of the round, of course Lewis won that round. Only a very small minority think different. And really no one but you thinks that Vitali was pitching a shut out at the time of the stoppage, although it wouldn't shock me if Breman and a 3-4 others agreed with you. Personally I'd be embarrassed to be mentioned in the same sentence as these idiots. I thought you were a little smarter than them, but congratulations, you proved me wrong.
Well you can go along with the rest of esb for all I care. The place is diseased by the presence of everyone besides myself. You think I care that my idea of the fight dont jive with the rest of esb!?! I fvcking despise esb! Some esb posters are good people though.
Another thread on this ? It's getting very very very very very very very boring even my toe is starting to feel it now
It's not a question of what anyone thinks, it's a question of watching a fight and arriving at an impartial score and anyone who scored that fight 6-0 for either of the fighters, prior to the stoppage, is sorely lacking perspective.
Anyone who isn't being disingenuous knows that Lewis was going to knock Vitali out. If you want to be a troll and argue these things, fine. That's your choice. If you're being honest, you'd say Vitali was on his last legs.
Your still here!?! I thought you was the one who said there was nothing to debate!? You can hold on to your official tk06, you can have that. I don't care about what is the offical score is I know Vitali dominated almost every minute of the fight and scared Lewis into retirement. If it was as close as you say it is Lewis would have fought Vitali again. Lewis and I and some others know that he was getting beat all to hell that fight. And we know why Lewis retired.
Agreed. No, it's just about as clear as the first one. The latter opinion is on weak ground given that the nature of the first victory (cuts) and the fact that he was trailing at time of stoppage. That puts enough of an asterisk over the win as to make a rematch a very viable option. It would be completely disingenuous for anyone to say that he "...didn't see the point of fighting someone he already beat " Think of how things would have unfolded if Rahman had said he didn't see the point of rematching Lewis as he'd already beaten him. And far more decisively than Lewis' beating of Klitschko ! Add to this the fact that Lewis would have made more money for the rematch than any of his previous fights, and it's pretty obvious that Lewis was, at a minimum, unsure of prevailing a second time, and so, after a lengthy study and watching Klitschko defeat Johnson, decided to retire with a legacy that put him in many people's top five. Given that there was a rematch clause in the Tyson fight contract and that Lennox went to court BEFORE and AFTER his fight with Klitschko to force Tyson to fight or pay $20 M, that camp would seem to be off the mark. True, and I agree that retirement was a wise decision. He cared more for his legacy than about $$$. But that doesn't change the fact that Klischko retired him.
Firstly with Rahman there was rematch clause in the agreement, so he had to rematch Lewis. That's standard practice for a champion to put into the contract. Secondly of all, a Vitali rematch would not have been Lewis' highest payday. His fight with Tyson was and any fight he was going to have with Tyson would have generated more money. Even a rematch would have. Thirdly, this is the first time I've ever heard the loser of a fight retiring the winner of a fight. But I do agree, that the outcome of a rematch would be no sure thing for either fighter.
