So Tyson was old and shot at 36, but you expected Lewis to fight on til hes 38 to rematch Vitali?

The guy had every right to retire when he did. Had done it all in boxing. Made hude money,and was in his late 30s. And had just beaten the main challenger in the division. PERFECT time to retire.

And while Tyson came in heavy and sluggish and got beat up. Lewis came in heavy(career heaviest) and sluggish and still beat Klitschko.

 

you're right lewis was ****. he was pretty much shot...not as shot as tyson but still basically done.

about the ref; i thought he was pretty hard on lewis...didn't manny warn lennox that he had to knock tyson out or the ref was gonna dq him?

 

This thread is stupid. Both Tyson and Lewis were far past their best when they finally fought. Yea Lewis fought scared when it was Tyson before the 8th round started wanted to quit in his corner but Shields tell tyson "i'm not letting you quit. you got this mike. just let your hands go."

 

Lewis was slow. Far past his best.

 

It is amazing when you look back how certain fighters are never warned or DQed by Refs . Lennox Lewis the hold and hit king or John Ruiz the hug you to death man. Other fighters lose points the first or second time it happens .

 

Lewis may have won the fight, but Tyson won the EVENT!
