donald curry ranked p4p number 1 in the world got hurt by rank outsider honeyghan in the second and hardly did a thing after that and retired after 6 rather than go out swinging on his shield.

Lets not start to compare Wlad from Fury fight with Lewis. I have always been a big fan of Lewis. He is number 1 for me but he had bad nights as well. If Fury vs. Wlad 2 happens, I bet he stops Fury.

The guy whose mentally weak and has a suspect chin, been knocked out three times is going to KO the guy who completely schooled him and has never been stopped?

    Ok then.

If Wladmir was capable of anything, we would have seen it last night.

If he was old last night, what's he doing to be next year whenever they rematch?

So if Wlad does it you're saying it would be an amazing performance and yould be impressed with Wlads career?

Yeah, that Lennox doesn't beat yesterday's Fury.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Lennox was more prone to being out boxed than Wlad was such as in the Mercer fight, and Tyson would have a clear speed and movement advantage to go along with the better reach.

If he's smart enough not to trade and go to war, I don't think that Lennox has it in him to catch him.

And if Lennox came back at 39, I'd like his chances even less.

Lennox was over the hill at that point, but he still had immense power in both hands.

Lennox wasn't in good shape whatsoever in his last match so stamina could be an issue in the later rounds in a hypothetical match with fury. Still I'd have to favor Lennox and I think his punch output would be considerably higher compared to wlad. I don't think fury would hit him with anything significant that would make Lennox weary of jumping in on him.

Lennox was not more prone than Wlad.

Lewis fought his heart out when he felt his title was slipping away.

Wladmir was just hoping and praying he made it to the final bell intact.

Lewis would have demolished Wladmir, any version of him.

Could that old Lewis have gone 12 rounds with Fury if Fury (hypothetically) was able to avoid trading with Lewis during the mid rounds? I know, it's a big if.

And he was 38 when he'd decided he had enough of keeping up with the young bucks.

Why should I think he'll have success against a big, young, hungry, smart, skilled contender a year after he himself said he was done?

Fighting your heart out doesn't matter if you can't hit the other guy.

The kind of fight Fury just fought would frustrate the hell out of Lewis, who was more flatfooted as he aged than Wlad was. Tyson knew what to do to neutralize the right hand, and that was never giving an opportunity for Wlad to get set with it by using lateral movement and upper body movement. He would do the same thing to Lennox, who was also reliant on the right as a primary scoring punch.

Lennox showed tremendous heart in the Vitali fight. But the similarities in how Vitali approached that fight and how Tyson would are stark. Heart wouldn't help him turn the clock back to catch a younger, faster fighter who has the reach to score on him while staying in safer areas himself.
