Right, because Lewis couldn't take care of a 210 lb. Mavrovic, so he'll rid Wlad quickly.

    You're delusional.

How can you possibly use the words lucky and "cuts" not one cut, but multiple cuts. Do you really think if they fought again Lewis wouldn't land more punches to cause those lucky cuts?

Really use your head just a bit when you post. I feel like I'm corresponding with a teenager when I hear this ridiculous line of logic being flaunted. Course then again maybe I am.

Wlad doesnt have the chin of Mavrovic, even Vitali doesnt have the chin of Mavrovic, Lewis won every round and landed massive shots.

Thats probly what Lewis did mate, use his head a little. The cut that mattered was the one under the eye that changed the course of the fight. Vitali was well in control until that cut occured, it was extremely notable. Thats why lennox wasn't cool about doing it again, because without that major debilitating cut beneath the eye he would lose. He knew that. Thats why Foreman said they should rematch as that fight wasn't 'fair n' square'! Lewis retired rather than risk it. Actually, I can't remember corresponding with you, maybe you just jump in on teenage conversations?.

Lewis didn't use his head. Why can't you just accept the results of the fight they way they happened, instead of trying to revise history?

Hell, I'm a huge fan of a lot of fighters but when they loose they loose.

As for the rematch, yes, there's a reasonable chance that Lewis would have lost it, but he didn't loose the first fight and the onus was on Vitali to beat the over aged, out of shape champ and he never. Even after the cut he has several rounds to land something significant and KO Lewis and he wasn't able to. So he lost. Vitali should have been able to rise to the occassion but he couldn't, when it mattered most. And if he had, we wouldn't be talking about the need for a rematch. So if you're so hell bend on assigning blame, assign it to where it belongs, on Vitali, for not winning, not on Lewis. Cause not everyone gets second chances when it comes to winning the heavyweight champion of the world. Lucky punch my ass. I saw the fight and cuts are a part of boxing, have been for generations, and Vitali has sustained several, not just one. In addition to that, Vitali had plenty of time to KO Lewis if that's what needed to be done and he didn't. End of story.

very good post. I'm a huge fan of Vitaly but really he lost that fight end of story. Would have liked to see a rematch but like you said not everyone gets a second chance.

Strange! I heard foreman say that it was a fair and square win and that the cuts were cause dby a legitamate punch.

Yeah, Vitlai gave Lewis a bad case of indigestion for six rounds. Lewis waited to see if Vitlai lost again, then decided a re-match would be too dangerous for him. So much for breakfast and lunch.

Lewis vs Wlad could have gone either way. Lewis would have the edge in confidence I think, but Wlad has more speed and defense to him. Whoever lands their bombs first would win. Neither had a good chin vs punchers. [/FONT]

Actually Van, I don't remember how we're discussing this particular fight, maybe I brought it up? Facts are facts though, Vitali MADE Lewis look like a fat out of shape old sonofabitch!!

Lets talk when Wlad has reached his peak with a few more good performances before we go prime to prime with him and Lennox.
I think its around even now 50/50 and Wlad smashes Lennox 60/40 when he gets to that signature prime status.
