Wasnt there a 20 page argument about this?!? Lewis should be a big favorite. I would probably handicap it at 75-25 or there abouts. my offical pick prime-for-prime would be Lewis on pts. 116-112
My take on the Lewis-Vitali-Wlad love triangle is this: Lewis would stop Vitali in the middle rounds with a series of combinations had they faced in Lewis's prime; Lewis would bomb Wlad out early before Wlad could settle into the fight (shorter jabbers had success against Lewis, but tall fighters never had time to get their jabs working); Wlad would beat Vitali with his superior fundamentals. A lot of people would be inclined to question the final judgement. My reasoning is this: Wlad could be beaten by heavy one-punch sluggers, but Vitali was an accumulation puncher, who I don't think would accumulate many punches against Wlad. I also think Wlad's jab would keep Vitali off balance, while Wlad's left hook (something that Lewis didn't bring to the table against Vitali) would be devastating due to Vitali's low right hand. Vitali has the superior physical talents, but I'd take Wlad's skills and orthodoxy any day.
Lewis could come out of retirement train for 2 months and kick Wlads ass!, Wlad was scared to get hit by Sultan, he would be terrified of Lewis, and hug him to death just like he did Sam PETER, .. Wlad is mentally weak and a wuss for being 6-7 240 lbs, and this is why the Heavyweight didvision sucks so bad because it's so called leader, is a glass chin, slapper, hugger, who's afraid to mix it up..
Lewis was KO'd with one punch by Hasim Rahman for god's sake. Saying Wlad can't beat him is hilarious. He got beat by RAHMAN!
dude lewis is my favorite hw ever but he'd get knocked out if he did that. you are blinded by your lewis nuthuggery or wald hatred :yep
I wouldnt call Wlad a puss, but everything else I pretty much agree with, Americans tend to favor the guy with heart, power, and overall toughness, Wlad only possess one of these at the championship level, even though Lewis was knocked out twice, but we seem to forget all the times he battled back from getting hurt to win fights, against Briggs, Bruno, Vitali, just to name a few, if that was Wlad that got stunned in the ring with either of those 3 the night Lewis beat them, Wlad would of probably would of went into a panic attack and wouldve got knocked out IMO.
and Wlad got beat by Ross Purrity. Lewis also kicked the **** out of Rahman in the rematch i don't see your point.
He was alredy hurt from flush right hands when he got ko`d, i believe the final right was one of the most powerful shots you will see land, it caught Lewis at just the right posture of unbalance where his feet were not planted below him, he was bouncing into it and his chin was in the air, Rahman was running in and Lewis wasnt on the end of the punch but bounced into the beginning of the punch and the punch went through the target! He did get halfway up before the ref stopped counting at 8 which is amazing.
So what we're saying is, someone who didn't exactly have Wlad's handspeed or power was landing rights on Lewis....but the board overwhelmingly believes that Wlad couldn't do this? Wlad's actually a worse style matchup for Lewis because Vitali was far more of a stationary target- allowing Lewis to tee off. Though people always menton that Wlad doesn't have Vitali's chin, Vitali also didn't have Wlad's mobility and the current Wlad is better defensively than Vitali was. It's not easy to land flush on Wlad now, and I think Lewis would be alot more reluctant to open up on him because of that speed difference and the worry of leaving himself open to counter rights. However this match goes down, the one thing I can nearly guarantee is that it wouldn't be a quick blowout victory for Lewis, and I don't think it would for Wlad, either. It'd probably be a mid-late round stoppage for whoever capitalized on the other's mistake or a slim UD, and it probably wouldn't be terribly exciting up until that point. Both have been knocked out by worse fighters, both have dominated in boring fashions at times, and both will knock out whoever gets reckless in the ring with them. As offended as people get when Wlad-Lewis are matched up or even compared, there are alot of similarities.
You people forget that LL avenged both of his losses, and let's get real the guy's that beat LL-Rahma-Mccall were better fighters than Purrity and Sanders, Rahman KO'D Sanders:deal, and Lewis wasn't a guy who was afraid of combat unlike Wlad who grabs and holds everytime he get's nailed with a clean shot:-( **** and people complain and ***** about John Ruiz with all of the hugging-holding, look how much Wlad did it against Peter..
Yet u fail to concede all the illegal rabbit punching peter got away with. That was much more impactful than the clinching. Klit held excessively in this 1 fight yet people complain he holds too much. What about his last 5 fights?
"Lewis would destroy Wlad",yeah well prove it?,thats the problem you cant,so its pointless,if mccall and rahman can put him down and stop him,im sure wlad could if he had to as well, but i cant also prove that so there you go
