how would a fight between lewis (mercer version) and tyson in 1996 have gone? do you think tyson could have won it?

Tyson by KO. His problem was come forward fighters who weren't afraid to scrap. Lewis was not that.

No, I feel that their primes did not overlap at all.

But prime for prime would be epic.

Lewsi? Would it kill ya to take 2 seconds to read over your post before you submit it? There was a guy last week that wrote "lettuce" instead of "let us" in the subject line of his thread. Not saying I'm the best speller myself but Jesus!

I don't think a scenario could be crafted where Tyson would ever get the better of Lewis.

    Same with Holyfield and Tyson.

They are just two awful stylistic matchups for Tyson.

Post prison Tyson simply was not good enough to beat Lewis. I re-watched the Mercer fight recently and while this Lewis was still a fighter in transition from his old style to the more disciplined style Steward would give him, he was still a very dangerous fighter. Lewis's jab was more consistent, he had learned how to clinch but was also offensively very impressive, one of the rare fights where Lewis really let every shot go, body shots, left hooks, 4-5 punch combo's and huge uppercuts. This Lewis was simply too much for this version of Tyson.
