Even if he wins them, it's still the sum total of his LHW career. 2 fights with Griffin. That's it.

Toney never fought anyone with a jab like Kov`s and he didn`t look that good at 175 anyway.

Toney had far better head movement than the static Beterbiev has, I feel Griffin may have been too fast also.

Kov used his reach better than Beterbiev does by using an excellent, constant jab.

But a fantasy fight involves two fighters at their best.

What was the best James Toney we ever saw at LHW?

I mean look at the careers of the men in that division.

It's an absolute given that the Toney we saw at LHW loses to Kovalev and Beterbiev.

Toney exposes the Overrated tomato can that kovalev is and then he picks the round to knock him out after humiliating him badly

Toney's stature has risen, I believe because of his forays into the heavyweight division beating an ancient Holyfield and going the distance with Peter twice.

Yawn. He was robbed blind twice vs Griffin and Thazdi was clearly him overlooking weak opposition. Toney would eat Stevenson alive

How did he fail? He merely passed through between dominance at 168 and cruiserweight

In fairness, as a fan, I have always said I was very high on Toney's Peter. And that counts for a lot.

He had 3 losses. Two of them robberies that would have been quality wins had they been scored properly. One loss to a bum that he let outhustle him because he overlooked him shouldn't matter that much

Toney was the bum at Lt. Heavy.

2 robberies against a top contender that should have been wins and he was outhustled once by a journeyman that he clearly overlooked. He dominated the division directly below and directly above it. Yeah that's a bum alright
