In women’s football they can heavily discount tickets and have school children go for free to fill out the stadiums.

You cannot pull the same trick in boxing as the school children thing isn’t possible.

A judge like that should be suspended. He should not be allowed to score fights for at least 6 months.

It doesn't matter if the boxers are from Matchroom, Queensberry or Boxxer. The most important thing is that they meet in some watchable fights.

2 really good fights on a card that exceeded expectations.

 

The Essuman v Vaughan fight was absolutely fantastic and should have had people fired up for the main event to follow.

Then we get hit with the predictable 20 minute female show stopper with the same tip tap tip garbage to suck the life out of people and the event.

Female boxing really should be on female only cards at leisure centures etc and they can expand to bigger venues should there be any demand. Should it get TV coverage then the people who want to watch can watch just like womens' football.

I blame Eggie Hearn for starting this nonsense.

How is it going with the huge announcement from Queensberry / Frank Warren we were promised this week ?

 

Absolute atmosphere killers. No knockouts, no knockdowns and they have no fan base.

I don’t get it. I know they’re cheap but I’d rather just start half hour later and leave them off the card.

If women want to box, good luck to them. The skill levels are already much higher than when they started and it'll get even better with time. But, as with football, they're nowhere near comparable with men, almost certainly never will be, and to insist on equal status is counter-productive because it puts existing fans off. There are football clubs where the women's team is given equal prominence while getting barely 5% of the men's attendance and boxing is going the same way.
