Although I will say, his masterclass against David Leimuex was one of the only times waking up a 4am for a US/Canadian fight was worth it. That was an utterly flawless performance

 

Yep. This guy is a good example. He's decent but nothing more but the British media are desperate to create a star. Same thing happened with Josh Kelly. It doesn't help that there's so much competition between rival promoters and TV networks as whatever little talent there is is spread out and pushed too hard too early.

 

Smith is a much better technical boxer than Eubank but hoping JR can pull off the upset.
I don't like the nasty personality of Smith

 

Not that it matters of course but Smith has the chest of an 8 year old boy.

 

I get what you mean but I don’t think “nasty” is the correct word. He’s spiteful but you want that in a boxer. He seems like a stand up guy, just very driven and stern.

Hes got skills, no doubt but plenty of questions as you would expect at this stage. Not really been chin checked yet and can he really bang against better opposition. Will be interesting to see how these questions are answered through the step ups. Seems a nice guy, I hope he progresses well

I know what you mean.
All boxers try and get an edge in the build up but there's something about Smith that I just don't like.
Without doubt he is the better boxer but I just don't like him as a person

 

Take AJ out of the last decade and who has really been any good? Sky made casual-friendly main-eventers out of Whyte, Brook, Crolla, Bellew, Campbell, Callum Smith, Taylor... barely 1 standout fighter for each year in the Sky deal. And yet it seems like a golden age now. Plenty dross in hindsight. Maybe it's just diluted a bit more with Boxxer and Queensberry a bit more prominent than they were back then.
