I had Eubank winning the first fight until he got hit with that elbow, it’s hard for me to just put this down to Smith being injured. If they have a third fight, Eubank will probably win again IMO. The first fight was the freak result, not the second.

Fantastic performance from Eubank, he really does deserve full credit despite what's been revealed from Smith's poor camp.

To put in that type of performance against the bloke who demolished him last time out shows some serious mental resilience and cojones.

It was a masterclass from the first round and whilst Smith didn't look at the races, I don't think he properly recovered from the 1st knockdown. He is hard as nails though and toughed it out but the referee got the stoppage bang on.

Eubank v Benn will get made now. If the Eubank from this weekend rolls up to that fight then he deals with the smaller man.

That is liverpool fans in a nutshell. They're only humble in victory.

Eubank surprised me somewhat, he made all the necessary changes from the first fight and I doubted he was capable of that. Unlike the first fight he didn't cede centre ring and give Smith time and space to work; he was relatively patient, his punch selection was good and his bad RJJ impression was nowhere to be seen. I hope he looks for a middleweight strap for his next fight (Janibek would be an ideal opponent, though I would have Eubank as a heavy underdog in that one), rather than chase the lucrative circus fights against Brook or Benn.

Thats not the main point im making though, liam wasnt himself he was terrible, so i dont get the praise for chris's performance

But on the "nobody let eubank off the hook", Loads did though, especially people within boxing, it was all "eubank wasnt right in there" "that wasnt the chris we know" etc, which he wasnt. But that wasnt the smithwe know either, whether through his own fault or not. I listened to froch and groves for instance on their talk sport show beforehand (who i like, especially groves) and all they seemed to talk about was how eubank wasnt himself etc

The first fight shouldn't be written off as some kind of freak result. Whilst Junior won the 3rd round clearly, the first 2 could have been scored either way. He did a number on Junior and the finish was brilliant.

I hate it when people decide to rewrite history. Why couldn't it just be that Liam was excellent in the first fight and Junior was excellent in the second and perhaps they were both lacking their usual ingredients in their respective defeats?

He is a very likeable and friendly person but I don't believe he will become anything. Unfortunately.

Because i think it could be a huge event on Sky Box Office. Matchmaking is all about timing and the timing is perfect right now. I believe that Eubank Jr. will defeat Golovkin but I wonder if the money / purse is bigger in a possible fight between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr ?

Liam made eubank terrible, you can do that either way. The reality is for both fights somehwere in the middle

No, Eubank wasn't himself in the first due to weight cutting problems with Benn fight fallout, and with Roy Jones as awful trainer.

Eubank Jr vs Benn is much bigger than Eubank Jr vs Golovkin. Even at this age Golovkin would beat Eubank Jr, but it would have to be at 168. I'd love to see Eubank Jr vs Benn and Golovkin vs Ryder.
