That is Smith's fault though for ballooning up in weight. He only has himself to blame for being unprofessional. Now I don't think he fights again as there are no big-money fights available for him. I can see Eubank, Benn and Brook all fighting each other instead.

I have never heard so many excuses. Liam Smith and all team, made fool of themselves. It is hard to listen, not just because of worst accent in world.

Don’t be jealous… Nothing is worse than Birmingham accent anyway, especially since benefit street programme. Can’t hear it without thinking of that White Dee hahaha. That street is posh compared to my slums..

Another thing to also consider is the possibility that the last couple of injuries may have finally aged Smith. Him and his team are blaming the significant weight loss on him being unable to move like he normally does but biology waits for no man. It's a different weight class but we seen Povetkin's trademark movement disappear over night. It happens...

Not boxing related but will never forget a cab driver in Birmingham with the thickest brummie accent trying to tell me the brummie accent is posh. No idea why he came out with it…I just nodded politely.

Smith beat Eubank fair and square the first time round. Eubank looked drained but either way smith beat him. The elbow did land which caused the swollen eye but that wasn’t the shot that finished him.

Second fight in my opinion smiths legs went after the first knockdown and he didn’t recover, he went down badly on the leg too it was pretty clear. Then went on to get his ass handed to him.

The whole build up to the rematch smith didn’t look like a guy who knew he had no legs and had just lost three stone. Even the ring walk he looked supremely confident.

Very unprofessional if true. I don’t believe it though at this stage. He’d had to have been stuffing his face with kebabs all day long.
Is there any proof of his 3 stone weight gain?

Agree, Eubank used his size to tie him up and stop Smith working in close and used his athleticism and physical advantages on the outside.

I rate smith but he’s always been pretty one dimensional, does what he says on the tin. He just got put down heavy before he could do that. Fowler was outboxing him until smith finally closed the distance. Eubank was just too big and too good for him on the night.

My father in law was round sat night and he rarely watches boxing but it was the first thing he said after the knockdown “he’s done his leg there”. I know fighters make excuses but now people are saying smith had lost 3 stone/both ankles were shot/recovering from injury etc yet in the build up he was a ferocious fighter camp was great/sparring was great……

Smiths a good lad but it’s cringeworthy. Just give Eubank his credit and say the better man won on the night. There’s still fights out there for him.

They always say it went great and you know it mate. Agreed Eubank still had to beat what was infront of him but why the clamour for a rematch for Eubank losing but not Smith. It stinks if you ask me.

Yeah I get it, in my eyes it’s 1-1 regardless of moaning from either party. I don’t see a third happening now tho regardless of any excuses, smith just doesn’t have the pull that Eubank has, rightly or wrongly.

Smiths proven he can fight at the top level, regardless of Saturday night. One fight doesn’t make/change a career.

Eubank will fight Benn and then Brook then that will be him done, he may take a cash out. Pretty grim really as he’s riding a high right now and should look to get a belt rather than the fame. But saying that if he savages Benn I may get Eubanks name tattooed on my three kids foreheads!!

A fully fit smith is young enough to compete at 154/160 with the best of them.

I think the 2 fights you mention. ARE cash outs. He doesn't seem to be interested in winning titles, otherwise he'd be talking about fighting a champion. Id be amazed if Eubank boxed again before next summer. Both Benn AND Brook would need a warm up before fighting him. So would Saundsers, but somehow I dont see that happening.
