Aside from these fighters not being in the ring regularly for the sake of their progress, you have to consider the financial side of it. If they're fighting every 6 months or so and they aren't at a world level, they aren't going to be earning a huge amount. Liam Smith hasn't fought once in 2013 and when he does, he won't be making a years wage in one night, so if he's only in the ring once in 2013 - which is looking possible - then it must be a worry for him financially.

Fighters need to have something in their contract which sees them get guaranteed money, barring injuries, suspensions etc.. No fighter should be tied down to a contract which doesn't guarantee them some money and if they don't fight in 6 months or so, they should be entitled to look elsewhere. It's just not fair to them.

 

Not hiring a stadium and using PPV. It is limiting the fans and reducing the exposure. Putting Froch on Wossy is great, but I doubt many casuals are going to buy the fight. It's pointless generating all this publicity if punters are reluctant to pay for the fight.

Yes it will do well. In terms of where boxing is today it will be a huge success. However, this could a have been a super-fight that really reached the casual viewer.

For me something doesn't feel right. This seems like a missed opportunity.

The fighters are not getting paid that much. PPV wasn't necessary.

 

Less than 6 weeks to go and only 3 confirmed fights for a PPV is not good enough IMO, Froch v Kessler a rematch off 1 of the dullest fights off the year were people were leaving half way threw the fight Bellew v Chillemba and Ahmed babyface Kaddour v Eric Ochieng

In ideal works there be a big undercard but the cost of main fight says you can't! They probably should had few British title fights on the show!
