He's just put on twitter he'll be fighting Jones on the 18th April, Derry undercard. Judging by Jones last fight he's not just over for a pay day as many thought he was, tough fight for Liam. Though I can see him getting a points win, which will be seen as a big statement , at least in comparison to Rose & the early finish he suffered. Be good if Carsons WBC belt is on the line too, get Liam a nice ranking would that!
Smith will win this by KO, he hits harder than Rose and Rose looked as though he had him in a little trouble before the stoppage, of course he wants to win the fight but he wont have the fitness for the latter part of the fight if he goes all guns blazing but he knows that realistically that is the only way of winning this fight.
Would be nice to see Smith fight an actual LMW and not a blown up WW, but Jones would still be his best opponent to date and i would have a fiver or tenner on the "upset".
Makesense. They really need to crack on with Smith this year - there is a danger that this lack of direction could lead to him being Frankie Gavin'd.
