Good luck to him hope he can pull it off, don't think Thompson is anything special but nor is smith. Be one of the fights off the year I think.

Yeah I really hope he wins, I agree he doesn't look anything specisl smith but somwtimes when a fighter steps up to world level it brings out the best in them, hopefully smith has some higher gears to show. For example remember when ricky burns fought roman martinez.. out of nowhere he suddenly looked world class.

Hope so. Gets stuck but I like him. Haven't seen his opponent before but I hope he's truly up for it because Liam can be a spiteful ******* in their and he'll certainly be bringing that to the table for this opportunity!
Be great for him to be the first one to win a world title after not following his brothers to snatch room. Good luck Beefy lad.

i never watch light middleweights apart from Alvarez, its a dead division with boring fighters.. I can't recall there being a brit light middleweight world champ in the 10 yrs ive been watching boxing, when was the last one?

I hope he loses, on principle - he ducked the Andrade fight, then Andrade got stripped and now he's fighting a much lesser fighter in Thompson.
But I see Smith getting the UD regardless.

Why would you not want a fellow Brit to win a world title. Loads of ex british world champions got shots they didn't deserve including your boy Khan.

Wouldn't say I hope he loses but can't call him a world champion largely because he's been given an absolute gift and ducked the legit champ

How was Andrade even the 'legit' champ then lol.. he got a shot at the 'vacant' title never faced the real champ Baysongeurov, defended against the awful Brian Rose then was inactive for about 2 years!

Thompson was awful, he shouldn't have even been there, a journeyman, no more no less. Both are ordinary, as far as title fights go, it was extremely poor.
