Liam Smith Vs Josh Kelly

He's decent is Ish. Would like to see him beat Kelly but there's levels to the game and as much as I think Ish can go on and do good things I think Josh Kelly is a level or two above atm. It'll be a great experience for Ish tho. He'll get paid well and even if he loses, so what, he's gained invaluable experience.
Smart move.

I think Josh Kelly has done so well since the early setbacks in his career. This would have been the perfect 'coming of age' domestic fight for him. It was probably a 60/40 Smith. A real shame it's not going to happen and hopefully it can get rescheduled.

 

a 60/40 smith? Not in my book. I had Kelly heavy favourite, like 90/10.

 

Smith has the experience. Yes he's past his prime but he's still a live dog for sure. Josh Kelly hasn't really had a massive step up. He's only fought European level fighters in my opinion. Liam Smith, even at this stage of his career, is still world level.

Not a gimmie for Kelly at all. A strong hungry, young and undefeated guy. I only favour Kelly cause of his skill but also 5he fact he has now had 3 tough fights. Fights that make you a more well rounded fighter.

As for the liam Smith fight I had smith a favourite. If he has slowed a bit and aged a bit then Kelly will be too fast and sharp but styles wise liam smith is bad for Kelly.
He is tough and and the bigger man and will walk you down and that is a bad fight for josh. It would have been a little bit like the avanesyan fight

 

Kelly to me is about Fowler level, he hasn’t proven much yet.

Even a little bit washed Smith would stop Fowler. I thought the same about Kelly.

Fowler probably less speed but bigger and stronger than Kelly. I actually thought Fowler beat Fitzgerald, but only by a point.

Pretty delusional to say Kelly would be 90-10 favourite. Smith would whoop Avenesyan lol

 

Kelly looks the part when he is feasting on bums.

His issue is he wastes a lot of energy needlessly with his style, isn’t the puncher he seems to think he is and hasn’t shown he has the heart to bite down on the gum shield when the going gets tough.

Smith is deceptive as he looks older than he is. If he was in fighting shape (not a given), but fully fit, I think he would be a few rounds down at half way but would win the fight and stop Kelly between 9-12.

 

Smith is 36. Ancient. And he won a vacant belt and never beat any top guys

 

On the plus side, we should be grateful that he done a number on Anthony 'Gucci' Fowler.

 

why Beale? Fowler is a nice guy and he was boxing his head off until he seemed to run out of fuel.

 

His reflection in the mirror even dislikes him.
