Switching from the main event on Channel 5 to the main event on BT felt like going from a Nightclub in full swing into a library.

Frank really needs to get the finger out as cannot see BT being happy to renew any agreements if this is the level of entertainment.

I forgot Taylor was fighting. Would of watched that instead.

Who does Smith fight now? Wait until Cotto retires and get a shot at the vacant title.

I think matchroom should make Smith and offer to fight Brook. Brook needs a decent opponent at 154lbs and he would beat Smith easily.

Smith would be target practice, even for this damaged version of Brook.

Surprised people think the result was so bad here. I gave Williams the 1st, 5th, 9th and 10th and had one round even. Even Williams didn't think he had it.

I felt as if Smith had got into Williams' head and he was determined not to gas so fought conservatively and by the time he needed to step it up he couldn't snap out of his rhythm. Also, Smith coming out and boxing probably surprised him as he'd probably had a game plan to counter a Smith marching forward throwing loads of body shots.

I'm glad it was a clean fight and the respect was there at the end as I like both of them.

Had it very close . Thought Williams pressed the fight but was interrupted plenty by a surprising good jab off Smith.

Smith finished strong though had Williams won the last round in could have given it to him. But I am biased

I had Smith by 2 rounds. Thought the classiest work came from Williams but there simply wasn’t enough of it. Smith hammered him with the jab and workrate over the 12 rounds. It wasn’t a stylistically great performance and Smith was throwing mostly single shots but he was just doing that bit more for me.

100% spot on m8. Unfortunately many on here ‘simply hate the Smiths’ and can’t judge it fairly. Say one thing though if Liam Smith fights Brook at 154ib he’s in for a torrid night.

Unless the medium we watched it on created some distortion???

I know fights can look different on a big tv than a small screen....different live from the view on tv, different from the cheap seats than ringside.....etc etc.

I watched it on a "normal" 32" tv.
    How did you watch it?

Lockett had his man down in the fight.

The bookies had Smith 1/5 on going in to round 12.

Williams conceded Smith deserved the win and there was no arguments fromhim.

Boxing forum 24 - the great robbery! Pathetic from some of you lot tonight. Take the blinkers off. If you don’t like Smith, the Smiths or Scousers then that’s fair enough. But he clearly won tonight.

Think Smith is guaranteed a shot a the vacant belt if cotto retains and then retires.

He won't fight anyone else before that fight that's for sure

No clear win either way close fight lackluster
And someone said Williams ain't ready for world level and smith is on that performance
Also you can't be happy to keep competing for and winning world vacant world titles I mean come on
Selling the belt on an understanding you can buy it back for for a fraction of the price
That devalues the belt he is challenged for next then wants to be took as a legitimate champ
Beat a champ to become a champ

    Had it 7-5 for Williams.

Williams was disappointing, seemed content with what he was doing whilst I thought he was doing the better bulk of the work he never seemed eager to go to the next level. Williams seems to be happy with what he's done in boxing and you need that bit extra if you are going to become a true world level operator.

Smith was...Smith solid fighter but there are several guys out there at 154 who abuse him.

Side note John Rawlinson's commentary was shockingly one sided last night, you'd think he was a Smith relative.

Now you're just boasting, moog!!! :)
I was a bit tired last night, and if I watched it again...particularly on a screen so big you need planning permission for it
    ..who knows....:)

That's actually a very good post! Finally something I can agree with...As you can tell I'm a bit shocked....;)

Is that John Rawling? He was awful last night.
