Your thoughts on the fight? How good is Liam Smith, and does he stand a chance against Michel Soro at SWW
I think it's a 50/50 fight - Soro looks good and if I remember correctly he did a good job on Blandamora up at middle. Very interesting fight this - I like Smith and I have him down as the 2nd best of the bros
I've never seen Soro fight, I'll have to have a look on Youtube later. Smith is definitely a top level fighter and would be a hard fight for all the known top level guys a 154. In my opinion he's the best of the Smith bro's and unless Soro is an elite fighter who's gone under the radar Smith will beat him.
Soro looked good against Tapia and Blandamura cuz they were tailor made for him. Think fight with Smith is 50/50 fight but, Soro does look susceptible to a body attack which is Smiths bread and butter. Smith has gotta look out for the counters and if he gets caught he's gotta be real careful as Soro can finish very well. Think if Smith can stay focused he'll take it on points, thou if he gets into a street fight he could very well be Ko'd as Soro looks to be the heavier, sharper puncher. Could be a bit if a doozy.
I like Smith in this, Soro can be lazy and the first four rounds against Douglas he was getting a roasting from the corner for just not doing enough, providing Smith does not go all macho and insist on taking a few on the chin as he often seems to do whilst attacking, he wins this for me and a late stoppage would not be out the question. Soro strikes me as an on top fighter, not sure how he will handle any adversity that comes his way and unless Smith falls apart he is clearly going to set a good pace.
Smith is overrated and will more than likely get stopped. Can see this turning out to be similar to the Paul Butler situation.
