Even in his IFL interview he can't bring himself to give Fitzgerald full credit - just the usual platitudes (always with a 'but' at the end of course). Implied heavily that Fitzgerald was using PEDs.

I think Fowler looks awkward at the weight. He's a bit too tall and gangly to look natural. The way he almost crouches down is a bit strange and he needs to cut that out in my opinion. After last night I can't see him competing at the top level.

Fitzgerald vs Cheeseman would be a really fun fight so I'm excited for that.

 

He was gassed, if Ali had of crowded him for 1 more round stay close, I guarantee he had that

 

Totally agree. He looks like he could be killed in a ring, no defence, good chin, no power. He needs saving badly from himself

 

Fowler reminds me badly of Froch's fighting style, bit of a tool too which makes it even closer

 

I got the impression from Froch's commentary that he doesn't like Fowler that much. Pretty clear to me that he wanted Fitzgerald to win (obviously Smith wanted Fowler).

Perhaps Froch sees the similarities too and doesn't like it. They've even got a fairly similar build.

What a performance from Joe Hughes. Fighting at a severe disadvantage but he didn’t half impress me.

 

Yeah, I think he got exposed last night, like many arrogant fighters are, because they can't see their flaws before they're revealed in a fight. Sometimes such experiences can help tone down that arrogance and can be a good thing, but that depends on the fighter dealing with the reality they're not as good as they thought they were. Not sure Fowler has the humility needed to do this, though...

 

Fitzgerald has an unbelievable engine. Him beating Fowler made my evening.

Price-Ali - well, I don't even know what to say about all that.

Both were totally gassed after 4 rounds but at least Price has some boxing ability. Ali clearly has none

 

37 here - I went out Friday at 6pm and came home at 9:30 - and even that was too late for me.

 

Ali intentionally got himself DQed. What a coward.

 

Joe Hughes has really good punching technique. Very good movement. A really great performance and victory for him, but was robbed on the cards.

I look forward to seeing him again.
