I do not have Scott's ear, just a big fan. What I can tell you is Scott is sparring 8 rounds everyday, so I would be surprised if he is sparring 8 rounders if he is about to go into a 12 round fight ! Or maybe he does not know, remember same thing happened with Rogan v Fury, Rogan trained for a 10 rounder, then it was changed to 12 rounds the day before the fight, and he went mad at the press conference.
Surely he should be sparring the 12 rounds no matter what.. Unless he expects it to go less than 8 ha... Joking aside Scott has the experience and if he's to win I feel it will be when Liam tires near the end of the fight.. Can't see Scott winning on points if he is too win it will be a stoppage in 10,11 or 12 if there is only 10 round Walsh will win by a landslide
Each coach does thing there way as I said earlier in the thread no way would Scott be sparring 15 rounds in a session,Ricky only does a max 8 because I know he's super fit and does 12 rounds doing handstands:good
Yeah I agree Billy. Scott says on twitter he trains 6 days week, 3 sessions a day and one of those sessions is an 8 round spar, so if you can do that and two other sessions in a day 12 rounds should be ok. Some people think Scott will be the one too tired late on, but has Walsh ever went to the end of a 12 round fight ? As you will agree often late in a 12 round fight it is as much do with mental fatigue as physical fatigue, and with Scott having done loads of 12 rounders it will help him.
reckon il put a punt on nathan then, i can get evens,no really a clue what that means like but i like teh sound of it.
What I do know about Liam is he totally leads the life of a pro fighter, has lots of bottle and will not in any way feel intimidated by Scott,if anything Scott may feel intimidated by Liam's youthfulness and speed also the fact Liam changes to southpaw during the contest, plus Scott's not done 12 rounds for 8 years. The only reason Scott trains three times a day is because of weight issues plain and simple but he's always done that even as a FW
Means if you put a quid on you get 2 quid back (includes your stake). People on here have been talking up Krasniqi and he does have some sharpness and good movement but not enough movement to get away with carrying his left hand so low. That's made for Cleverly's long right over the top of it and Krasniqi has shown that he isn't the hardest to hit. Add to that Cleverly's stamina and chin and evens is a good price. Only thing is Cleverly has ground to halt of late and rustiness may be a worry against someone who's name isn't Karpency or Hawk.
In fairness Billy I doubt the weight is much of any issue now Scott is up at lightweight, and fact he's hardly been out of the gym for the last 18 months, so he's never been as heavy when not in camp as he was when fighting at fw. You will know better than me he must have been 11,7st _12st between some fights then, I would be shocked if he's even been 11st at any point in last 18 months. As for Liam, he seems a cool customer we will have to see if he is still that way after the weight in, he sounded rattled with Scott saying this is just a stepping stone fight to a world title fight. I cannot see anything about Walsh intimidating Scott, its him that intimadates iopponents as you know Billy. I will take a line from Broner to Ricky, Walsh will have his running shoes on in this fight, and if he goes toe to toe with Scott from the begging Scott will stop him in 4 rounds. His only slimmer than slim hope is to hit and run for the whole fight, but as I say he is fighting the expert of cutting the ring off, and walsh won't have the experience to stop that.
Billy when Ricky is not in a training camp what is his every day weight? I am guessing 10st 7ib - 10st 10ib ! Am near ? I would be surprised with his professionalism if he was ever more than about 1 stone over the lightweight limit.
W*rren has barely mentioned Harrison in the build up to this fight. This has been set up for Walsh and him only. As soon as Burns left then W*rren set this fight up. Harrison was only there for a potential Burns-Harrison scrap that W*rren would've loved. No chance of that now so Harrison gets cashed in straight away. W*rren: "Easily the most talented of three prizefighting brothers, Liam remains unbeaten in 13 fights. Still only 26, he could yet fulfil his dream of winning a world title. A convincing win over Harrison – certainly no 'gimme' – would significantly bolster his profile and edge him closer to the Holy Grail." But W*rren knows it's a 'gimme'. He wouldn't have even used that word otherwise
Moog we both know that Scott hasn't lived in the gym the last 18 months come on pal,the problem living in Glasgow it's like a little village,so stop trying to kid us all on that Scott has turned into a super human boxer. There's no other reason than a weight issues for Scott to continue training 3 times a day are you forgetting I worked with him 10 years or so. Ricky wouldn't weigh any heavier than 10st 5lbs and that's him eating what he wants. I will give you a line from boxing as well Moog "speed is power"
