If the Appleby that beat John Simpson turns up, I see him pulling the upset, it s a big ask fror Nelson to get that Appleby back. Best of luck to both fighters though

Thank you for the poitive comments,Paul is in the shape of his life and telling me he's punching faster and harder than ever before this being backed up by Burns.
Pauls head wasn't in the right place before he tells me,no excuse he got well beat by both Lindsay and Laraya but Paul now puts his hands up and admits it like a man.
Liam is a very good fighter and will get the utmost respect but what ive seen the last 3 weeks from Paul i'd be suprised if Liam went the distance.

All the best Billy when Friday comes, Appleby definitely has talent and barring that horrible off night against Laryea (we hope) hopefully get's the win here, going to be a cracking match up.

Yeah I think the best Appleby beats Walsh. One thing he's always had is good power, and there was a few distress signals from Walsh against the Ghanian lad in the middle rounds. The sparring he's getting must be helping. Also Appleby is pretty battle hardened now compared to Walsh

Appleby needs to do the following

-Use the Jab to set up his attacks on Walsh, By doing this he can set up his other shots as well as cutting ring off with lead foot staying on outside of Walsh's lead right.
-Put his shots together from mid-long range
-From Early apply work to body, Walsh doesn't defend the body well and Appleby does punch hard to the body.

    Steady Pressure is the Key!

    Walsh has to...

-Apply his own jab and work off of it.
-Punch with angles and power to earn respect of Appleby
-Offset Appleby with feints and half steps back and to side whilst being in range to counter any sloppy leads from Appleby. He may have to win rounds with limited output and more quality counters/leads so make em pay!

Don't back up and waste energy, it's all about distance, timing and angles.

I personally fancy Appleby's chances here and will go for a 10th round stoppage. I believe he will find early rounds hardest as he tries to pin down Walsh but the Cromer man makes fundamental errors and will get caught with the long range punches and start to get chopped up on the inside because Appleby is vicious in that area and i can see Walsh feeling the bodywork and getting clipped. Confidence will start to ebb away and he will become more flat footed and in end will start to trade off with Appleby and end up being stopped with left hook to body.

My bad :good,Most of what i seen of him is in southpaw stance but seen only one fight really and some quick snippets.

Is he better orthodox or southpaw?.

    Good luck on friday!.

If It,s the Appleby of old - how weird does that sound at 24?! Then he beats Walsh comfortably inside the distance. He looked really special when he burst onto the scene. Can't say that about Walsh, he looks a decent boxer but not one who could go to a much higher level.

Appleby HAS to go to the body, that is his biggest asset. Slow Walsh down for the later rounds, still think Walsh wins on points.
