Liam Walsh - Why still domestic titles?

Probably just wants to win the British title outright first. Definitely has the talent to go a long way though. Brilliant boxer.

Seems strange, he needs to be let of the leash a bit otherwise he will jump ship like many others recently. FW needs to start presenting him with big opportunities as he has done everything superbly up till now so a slow move up to world level will do him better than staying at British title level, then with a sudden jump up to world level.

 

This is actually Liam's choice not to be let of the leash. He is probably the best bet for a world title and would beat Smith. I would like to see him in with Roman Martinez I think he has the beating of him. I think he will beat Troy James then move on. I've heard he is vacating the commonwealth anyway

 

I agree he seemed quite happy in his IFL interview to be boxing Troy James next month.

 

its not a bad fight in all fairness, Troy is quite decent bar a defeat in prizefighter the only person to beat him is Terry Flannegan who is boxing for a world title this summer.

If Walsh can stop him he makes a big statement

 

Talented fighter but he needs to be moved on to bigger and better things now.

Mad that a few years ago he was signed to fight Ricky Burns for the world title, then I believe he was involved in a car crash(?) which prevented the fight.

 

Troy is better than he gets credit for. He was excellent against my brother. No one expected him to fight the way he did. We fought Troy would stand and fight with Ronnie and he tried to counter box more. It was a very close fight but showed there was more to Troy. He will need more to beat Liam I think. Liam is a very good boxer I don't think he will out box Liam I would think he would need to go out and try and look for a big shot. Stand toe to toe with Liam to stand any chance. Troy took some big shots from Ronnie so he has a decent chin. Everyone likes a underdog but I think Liam will just have a little too much for Troy

 

Liam Walsh is another terrible example of great talent squandered by inactivity
