Interesting move. How the **** will Dom have the time to train everyone, gonna be a nightmare for promoters and managers to avoid clashes if Ingle has to take a boxer abroad.
He gets to spar Brook, Quigley and Billy Joe in house, cant beat that. I feel sorry for Gary Lockett, but i felt Williams was not mentally tough enough in fights against Liam Smith. Now some of that may or may not be down to Gary Lockett, but either way its either mainly or totally down to Williams to be mentally tougher.
Yes leather had gone to lockett after leavin the other trainer, i forget his name., just remembered it was imran, He was in ritsons corner sat night. what happened for leather to leave lockett? We avnt seen anything of williams for ages, its probably a good move tbf
Frank said Leather is not allowed to fight until outstanding medical issues are sorted. Maybe Leather hasnt got money to stay away from home if he isn't boxing.
Yes, it was a bad cut and technically Lockett was the one who called it off, but IMO Williams had mentally jacked when Smith started putting the heat on in the 1st fight and was happy to be pulled out because of the cut. Gary acted off the back of his body language IMO. In the second fight, Williams to me looked like he was going through the motions and mentally wasn't really there either.
I agree with Moog. Williams didn’t get outclassed by Smith. Smith’s work rate, heart and determination to go through a battle of attrition behind that jab got him the wins. He was willing to dig deeper than Williams as he constantly repeated it in the build up to the second fight.
I took from @moog's post that he was alluding that Locket had something to do with Williams' heart and desire.
I don’t think he was trying to say that. What I will question though is... Has the trust gone between Williams and Lockett after he pulled him out? You could see from Williams body language that his arse had gone but maybe he thought he could ride out the remaining rounds? (For what it’s worth I think he was going to get stopped).
