Grudge match well over a year in the making. Nothing official but they're back to barking at each other via social media. Would be a great domestic scrap and solidify the #1 middleweight in the UK (although for either man, also then defeating Beefy would certainly help to hammer that nail home)

    Here's them chirping May 2019:

    ...last December:

    ...and today:

Williams pounds him mercilessly but fails to put him away. It's the kind of beating a prime Groves would've put on him, and it's the kind of beating which shortens careers and curbs egos.

I will go with Eubank on points. Eubank Jr despite his glaring flaws (terrible footwork for example), does well against come forward fighters and if Williams isn't careful, he might get KTFO.

I'm wondering, has CEJ fought a 1) good 2) puncher 3) in their prime?

    • Abraham - puncher yes, but never terribly good IMO (weakest of the MW titlists of his era by far, and even more of a mediocrity at 168) and not prime when they fought.
    • Groves - puncher somewhat, and good (again somewhat) but not really prime when they fought.
    • DeGale, BJS, Chudinov, Blackwell - good, prime...not punchers.
    • Spike - puncher, prime...not good on that highest-shelf world class sense.
    • Korobov - very good but moderate puncher and definitely not prime.

Probably Eubank but War Williams. Jr. dodged a huge bullet against Korobov. The most unlucky fighter in boxing currently.

Degale prime? Are you good pal?

Yeah Degale was definitely not prime. Prime Degale died during the Jack fight.

Eubank stops him, he's too relentless.

Williams has quit in him too, a severe lack of Warrior's Code.

Near enough for our purposes. :nusenuse: He was at least early thirties as opposed to Abraham, while St. George's decline was far less gradual than Chunky's. Yeah, poor night of form the first go with Truax but he reclaimed his belt soon enough.

Agreed it looked like Korobov was on the way to schooling him before the injury.

You must not have watched James at the time, he was shot to bits.

Admittedly did not see JD vs. CEJ ...or maybe I did and blocked it out. Doesn't sound a lovely fight tbh, primes or no.

Yes, my verdict of "near enough" to prime is from memory of the rematch with Truax. And the Jack and Truax fights weren't all that long before he fought Eubank, IIRC?

Honestly seeing as Liam Smith beat this bum from pillar to post twice, Christopher gives him the Tom Doran experience

Tom Doran would beat this bum, heck Luke Keeler would beat this bum

Smith has never clearly bested the superior Liam, no.
