This content is protected Cliff notes 1. Navarette showed TERRIBLE SURVIVAL SKILLS when he was initially hurt by Liams left hook counter 2. Navarette got caught with several more punches after that and just didn't know what to do. 3. Navarettes back was flat out on the canvas with 49 seconds left. 4. The fighting resumed with 21 seconds left. 5. The entire point is that Navarette was very badly hurt, showed zero clinching or ability to survive while being that hurt and then we saw the mouthpiece bull**** and the slow count which all led to a 28 second break. SUMMARY Navarette was in extremely big trouble due to not having any survival skills, to the point where he got battered to the canvas and took several clean punches in the process. He did not know how to clinch while being hurt. He was unsteady on his feet for the entire time of the 28 second break. I think Wilson would have hurt him again or possibly stopped him if it was a regular 10 second count. Navarettes only defense was throwing punches to offset Liams attack but he couldn't do that effectively while hurt. He could only do it after taking some extra time to recoup. He was in trouble at the end of the round and looked a little trapped on the ropes. Liam Wilson probably would have won by KO or at least got another KD and hurt Navarette again if it wasn't for what I believe is cheating and corruption in boxing.
Nah, Nav knows how to clinch but he is a mexicano and clinching is a sign of weakness.Serious note.Total disrespect via Navarette coming in half arse and not training 110 percent for the fighting.Probably thought it was an easy fight? Who knows!! But he looked like out of shape pudgy juanito.
Slow count? I counted to 6 when the ref was on 5. He counted to 8 and asked Navarette to walk towards him. The ref grabbed the mouth piece and Navarette struggled to put it in. Only thing really to gripe about was that a point wasn't deducted. Other than that nothing terrible on the refs part. What is terrible is how Liam totally forgot what got Navarette in trouble to begin with. He was reduced to just loading up power shot after power shot. Never tried to catch Naverette in an exchange. Didn't allow Navarette to be the aggressor which helped Liam land that left hook. He threw his game plan out. The window once he got his opponent hurt.
