    Round 7

Ornelas lands a 1-2 and seems to hurt Hernandez, as he has done with all his big shots the last couple of rounds. Hernandez remains a resilient foe, and has himself taken to circling out wide and looping long hooks. He actually catches Ornelas with one. Ornelas comes in and bangs him with a chopping right. Ornelas is still getting hit a lot but is landing the much better and more damaging stuff now. Hernandez bends forward, looking exhausted as he drills a right to the body and gets hooked in the ear thrice before straightening up. BIG BOMBS land by Ornelas, and Hernandez gets some wind in his sails but doesn't go down. They are both tired as they clinch together, but Ornelas gets a second wind and throws a hard flurry with his hair shaking and spraying sweat everywhere.

    Round 8

Ornelas with his signature hook to the body, and Hernandez comes shouldering in on him. They trade, both looking for open spots downstairs and just reaching around each other to find them (with their arms doing this weird little dance, like "hey excuse me - I'm on a mission to punch the body. You know where that is?" "Oh, next left and then down a bit. You can't miss it. Just so happens I'm on similar orders" "Hah! Crazy. Thanks pal") Holy hell. Hernandez took a massive right hand and just wobbles but will not go down. Ornelas cracks him with both hands and is moving his head with almost everything. They clinch a few times, which is now Hernandez's only defense shy of a referee or corner stoppage since he WILL NOT GO DOWN. Ornelas keeps sliding back and jabbing, trying to box his way to the finish line. Hernandez stubbornly gets in and grabs him, but pays for it as Ornelas HOOKS HIS HEAD NEARLY CLEAN OFF and backs him into the ropes.

    ****ING **** THAT WAS GOOD.

K...so, while I have that being a fairly wide decision for Ornelas having won most of the rounds after getting dropped - it was actually damn close. It's just...10 point must system and all, y'know? NAHMSAYIN?

Damn, that was a good fight. Better than any of the four shown on FNF. Hell, better than all four combined.

    Tom Taylor 78-73
    Hernando Villareal 78-73
    Daniel Sandoval 78-73

    all for Enrique Ornelas

    Same as me. :good

Only for a few rounds. :yep And to be honest I skimped on Magdaleno-Alcantara quite a lot, with like 80% of my attention on this awesome battle and only minimal attention kept on my ESPN3 window.

I really thought this was going to be FOTN. Man, if it's half as good as Ornelas-Hernandez...

    Maybe if this ends quickly.

Although Solo Boxeo has expanded to a two hour format, (with the last 30 minutes called "Solo Boxeo Plus" running from 1am to 1:30am EST)...so even if this goes the distance we might see some of it. :think
