The referee did give a gift to Bute. The referee was also of the opinion that Bute wouldn't have beaten the count. Many share this opinion. But it's Bute's job to rise before ten - he did that. He beat the count.

The FACT still remains that without the unnecessary delay the fight wouldve been waved off by any competent ref. Thunder this includes Steve Smoger:yep

But that is not a fact - it's likely but not a fact. Most importantly of all it did not occur.

Look, i totally understand where you are coming from - look at the two fighters at the final bell - it looks like Andrede won! Add the horrific mix up with the count, and you have frustrations galore. You don't have to be bias to Andrade to feel what you feel about the fight, it's a normal way to feel.

But they still talk about the Tunney-Dempsey long count 100 years later. It's bull****. "Tunney wouldn't have survived without those three extra seconds", "Tunney wouldn't have got up without those three extra seconds".

Maybe, but what we know is that Tunney and Bute beat the count of ten and went on to win decisions. The fighter on the mat has one job - rise before the referee says "10". If he does that he has not been KO'd. As for a TKO - arguably, Bute looked out of it. But he survives until the final bell, he has earned the right to hear the decision.

Saying that Andrade would have won with a different referee may be valid, but he didn't win with the one he had, which is more valid.

**** officiating, Bad refereeing, absolute garbage...

Bute was all over the place with almost 30 seconds left, then the referee steps in and prevents Andrade to work for the whole rest of the round.. Referee took a whole sixth of the last round away from Andrade to protect Butes disposition.. Its was just scandelous cheating...........

No doubts at all. Lucian Bute's legs were shot, he had no legs at all and backpeddaled on unsteady feet from one corner to the other, after holding on to the ropes and being hammered to the ****in seat of his trunks - fight should have been stopped right there and it reminds me Tyrell Biggs KO by Tyson. And the referee is worried about where's Librado instead of the count? GTFO of here! I still want my Vcash since I put my bet on Bute and he didn't really deserve it but WTF!
