I just counted it with a stopwatch. 21 seconds from when Bute got knocked down to when the referee finished the count.

    REMATCH

:good i concur. maybe after this madness the boxing organizations can all agree on a clear black and white rule where fighters have to have their backs against the corner or something because this was clearly a robbery and shouldn't happen again. nevertheless, a rematch is inevitable and one of those cases where the winner's reputation got hurt.

Theres no doubt to me that Bute is the better fighter, but Andrade was robbed by the ref there.

Agreed, there were several points where the ref could have stopped the fight. Bute was falling all over the ring, the ref clearly wanted him to finish the fight.

that video shows Bute got up within 10 seconds pretty clearly. Question is how much time was left when Bute hit the canvas? That video doesn't show it

If there's less than 10 seconds left in the fight, and Bute gets knocked down and gets up, thenimo there is not robbery. If he is on his feet and the final bell rings, then he has earned the right to go to the scorecards.

The question is how much time was on the clock when Bute fell to the ground.

Either way you look at it, Bute showed alot of heart, and so did Librado.

    This video does, though:

    http://fr.justin.tv/clip/f2fc320a168

The answer is there were 2 seconds at most left of the round when Bute hit the canvas.

Everything you wrote here is wrong, according to the rules.

According to the rules, the referee should not have determined whether Bute was fit to continue or not because the fight was over - finished - finito!

Bute went down with two seconds left of the round. He beat the count i.e. he was up on his feet unsupported by the ropes before the count of 8 (he was in fact up on his feet within 6 seconds of the knockdown).

The timekeeper should have ringed the bell as soon as Bute was on his feet unsupported, because that would have been four seconds after the end of the alocated three minutes. He didn't. His mistake could theoretically have cost Bute the win.

Everything that the referee did from that point on is immaterial, because according to the rules, Bute had beaten the count and the fight was over, whether the referee or the timekeeper or Andrade or Bute realised it or not.

Please read the rules before mentioning them. Please read the posts of other posters quoting the rules before contradicting them. Please make an effort to understand simple arguments based on facts, before making up your own facts to contradict others' arguments.

It was terrible refereeing. I haven't seen footage of where Andrade was during the KD, but have been informed that he was like a step out of his corner which is still ok.
The referee didn't even make Bute walk towards him after he made it to his feet.
You couldn't even get away with that in a Rocky film.

They say you have to knock someone out to score a draw in Germany, this makes Germany look like fair play.
Hopefully it stays as an isolated incident.

The referee only had to determine to his satisfaction that Bute was ready to continue. There isn't a rule that says you have to prove you are ready by taking a step forward. The referee asked him whether he wanted to continue and Bute answered the usual way: by raising his gloves and putting them together.

Of course, the fight was over by that point anyway, but the referee didn't know it because the timekeeper didn't follow the rules. According to the rules, since Bute beat the clock (was up on his feet unaided by haging on to the ropes) and had done so after the allocated three minutes, the timekeeper should have hit the bell as soon as Bute beat the clock and that would have been that; it would have gone straight to the scorecards. The timekeeper's mistake was the biggest problem, not the way the referee acted before or after the knockdown.
