Can't complain about the stoppage, although I agreed with Farhood that because it was Andrade, I might stopped the action and given him a count.
It seemed to me that Andrade was the stronger guy in there, and that he was wlaking him down before being caught cold with that winging R hand.

Oh well, Im still an Andrade fan, but he's gonna have to take a couple soft touches before fighting another banger again.:-(

Also, Andrade is a bonafide 168 lb fighter fighting a guy who last fought at 188. If this fight were at 168 and not 173, things may have been different. Andrade did hurt him too afterall.:deal

Yeah, yeah, you can see everyone beating Bute, you keep saying.

Give me a shout when you'll actually start seeing someone beating Bute.

Stoppage legit.... Both Andrade & Margarito would be able to pick themselves back up IF/WHEN they get knocked down. Their recovery levels are off the chart. But it doesn't mean they'd be in a condition to continue to reasonably defend themselves... and Bryant was scoring on every hook

Bryant just earlier, missed that same punch he hid. A few moments later, again he tried a loaded, hidden punch and it scored big time that made Andrade stagger. Anything that can make Andrade stagger would KO pretty much anyone else.

A crafty hard puncher can best the most iron-chinned guys out there if their defense is reliant on absorbing damage...

Waiting for the Chin-Checkers numbskullz do a full flip-flop on Andrade. Don't only glass chins get dropped and shook?

Andrade took hellacious shots from an absolute tank. His chin is still fine.

What? He was stopped on his feet wobbly but possibly could have survived. I was expecting to see a knockout.

And as skilletz said, his recovery skills are off the chart.

The ref made a safe call, but you can see just seconds after the ref jumped in, Andrade looked clear headed and able to defend himself.

Now, Bryant may have gone right back to banging away, but he was missing a lot of those winging shots, whiffing badly, and may also very well have punched himself out.
And as I said in an earlier post, Andrade was hurting Bryant as well and was walking him down and discouraging him. It could very well have gone the other way later fight, or the very next round even since there were only what, 30 or so seconds left in the 3rd.

This is a fight where a rematch is needed to see if Bryant is legit or if Andrade is no longer a top 10 SMW. :think

We already know both of those things to be true, without need of a rematch.

Just how legit is Bryant? That question can only be answered by him moving onward and upward, against someone who does still currently have something to offer.

What I don't understand is why you're against Bute.

Hope you're not fallen into the camp that tries to pretend Ward should not fight Bute by continuously comparing Bute unfavourably against all sorts of lesser potential challengers.

Dec, read my post again. More carefully.

I said it wasn't surprising Bryant might be able to trouble Bute, or even drop him with a big shot he didn't see coming. **** happens in sparring that wouldn't happen in a real sanctioned bout. That was actually the very point of my post.

Guys are often able to trouble/hurt/drop boxers on much higher levels than themselves. We hear about it all the time.

According to legend Spadafora gave Mayweather hell. But obviously Mayweather >>>>> Spadafora.

Edwin Valero gave Erik Morales a licking in a sparring session. In a fight? Even old Morales would have taken Valero's overrated zero.

I can imagine Rowland giving Lucian a good hard tough spar, maybe even scoring a flash KD in the heat of it. Can I imagine him gaining a professional victory over him? No, not really.

^ exactly what was said in my post that you quoted.

    Dig?

Dig, I did read your post carefully the first time around and I know what you meant. But I was mentioning the undercurrent in your posts - noticed that too.

Loads of people could put Bute down in sparring and maybe quite a few 168lbs down could beat him too - but at the moment, that is irrelevant - what matters is whether he'd gonna get the shot against Ward if he beats Froch. I hope you agree. I hope you agree that he should get that shot. :good
