Ward vs. Bute is THE fight to make at SMW. :nod

It will be the biggest at the weight since Joe vs. Mikkel.

...there's no harm in saying some positive things about a young kid who just caught a big break, though, right? :good Bryant is obviously nowhere near the Ward/Bute/Froch level yet...but you can't help speculate how he'll do against Dyah Davis or Don George types...and as his reputation grows those top-tier guys might actually use him for a sparring partner...

Larouche tweets Bryant was Bute's sparring partner in two different camps.

I don't wont to badmouth the guy for no reason, but Andrade has to be one of the most overrated fighters on this forum. No one gets more credit for being a "title" challenger and losing almost every round of every title fight than Andrade. The guy is a crude come forward fighter with some chin. Is it really that surprising some contender sparked him out? Honestly if the guy has any future I would expect him to thrash Andrade.

As for him being past his prime do we really have time to discuss when a stepping stone level fighter is "in his prime"? When was Darnell Boone's prime? How about Emmanuel Augustus. Before or after his 15th loss? The fact that a fighter like Andrade fought for a world title more than once highlights how weak SMW was at the time.

There have been fans claiming that their fighters had the world shotest primes.. when in reality they just always sucked and got lucky with a few wins that were stylitically there for the taking... Bowe, Lacy etc.

But Andrade is the opposite. He truely HAS TO have a short prime because his style is so brutal that no human being can do that for long. He has done it for about 5-6 years now.

He is done done done... and will lose every second fight from now on.

Nah. In between, he still dominated a game top 15 fighter in Tsypko. I do think his elbow injury in that fight really affected things long-term though.

    I just watched this fight.

IMO the stoppage was pretty premature. Andrade didn't look out on his feet he was just being over whelmed in that moment

First off IB....I agree that Bryant does have excellent power that is LEGIT. And I I sort of agree that Andrade has been something of a shot fighter since his second loss to Bute....although Steiglitz might disagree.

As for a rematch......I think it's warranted in this case. Andrade was fighting a guy that was naturally bigger than him by 10lbs, and was beating him farily easily before the bigger man landed the single blow that buckled the iron chinned warrior.
I think in a rematch, Andrade would be more likely to consider some form of defense knowing the power of a man danged near a CW is too much to walk right through. And also, he'd be more suited to box a bit more. Not saying he'd need to change his style, but more or less adapt to the much bigger man's style.

I'm sorry but Andrade looked like a ****ing giant next to Bryant. I think IB and I both made a comment about the physical differences in the thread.

    Andrade had the size advantage.

I would like to see a rematch though.

This has to be one of the faster transitions between granite to glass we've seen in quite awhile. It usually doesn't happen this quickly, or extremely.

Bryants arms as as big as Sam Peters. Which fight were you watching Bama.

And his chest.....holy shiit.....the guy is like a CW. And coming down to 173, then rehydrating to 190 is not exactly making him the smaller guy when Andrade fights at 168 and rehydrates to 175-180.:huh
