...considering all the damage these MMA fighters take all over their body, as well as their relative low pay compared to boxers, what kind of quality of life can they expect after their careers are over ?

Shite unless you made it all the way to the top.

  3. We could get philosophical here but we know they don't get too much in the way of monetary value.

Most sports are like that though, many fighters make the mistake of not getting educated while theyre doing it.

A lot of guys open gyms, but those are not the best investments.

Luckily a lot of guys manage to get a degree because they wrestled in college; Chuck Liddell has an accounting degree and I think he even passed his CPA exams, doubt he is still licensed but he obviously doesn't need the money.

Reason I made this thread was someone brought up Mark kerr and I remembered seeing a documentary on him which showed his life being total ****. He was hooked on pain meds and all sorts of other things related to ware and tear from wrestling/MMA. I remember reading some articles about Chuck having to go to rehab for his addictions as well. Considering all the aches and paines normal people experience when they get old , for these guys its probably a 100 times worst.

Mark still fights because its the only way he can make a living. Its so sad to see what he has become now.

  8. I liked the Wamma way of doing things, I heard they arrange a pension fund or something for the fighter. Can any knowledgeable people back this up?
