Who wins this fight at 108 pounds?

Giovani Segura (age 29) is the current Ring light flyweight champion and a former WBA and WBO beltholder from Mexico. The Ring also rates him as number 8 in the pound for pound list and has a record of 28(24)-1-1.

His solitary loss against Cesar Canchila was avenged in a rematch in 2009 in which Segura claimed the interim WBA title by TKO4. He was elevated to full champion later in the year and made 3 successful defences then faced undefeated Ivan Calderon in a unification match. Segura won by 8th round KO (in the Ring magazine fight of the year for 2010) and also beat Calderon by 3rd round KO in a rematch earlier this year. He won his last fight by TKO1 against overmatched Eddy Zuniga.

Román 'El Chocolatito' González (age 24) is a former WBA strawweight champion from Nicaragua. The Ring rates him as number 6 in the light flyweight division and has a record of 29(24)-0-0.

He won the WBA strawweight title in 2008 stopping Yutaka Niida in 4 rounds. He won the WBA light flyweight bout with his second win over Francisco Rojas in 2010 with a second round knock out. His last fight was TKO7 victory against Omar Salado

    His second win against Rojas

Segura just has too much at the moment imo.

By staging it at light flyweight it gives Gonzalzez a chance imo, as Segura greatly struggles to make weight apparently, so I could see him getting some rounds, but in the end Segura will prove just too big for him and stop RG late.

I agree with you two. Gonzalez would definetly have his moments early on, but Segura would eventually wear down Gonzalez and stop him late, somewhere around the 10th or 11th.

What a great fight this would be. :happy
