Is there any light heavyweights in history that could beat prime Rocky Marciano in a boxing match?

I think Ezzard Charles is actually a pretty sensible name to mention.

None would start as a favourite.

Rocky did enough work against very elite boxers for me to be satisfied that a man his own size outboxing him is very veyr difficult and there are no punchers in the division who could out-war him 2/3. I actually think that despite being one of the smaller heavyweight champions Marciano is LHW proof. I'd pick him to sweep them. Moving up a division against a power-punching swarmer is nightmarish.

Beterbiev, Spinks and Roy Jones. I'd never count out Andre Ward either.

Jones would befuddle Marciano at first, but the longer the fight lasts, the more the pendulum swings to Marciano

Ward would take off like a bottle rocket from diarrea if he was told he had to fight Marciano. The other three would be game but it's a bloody tough ask even for them.

Yeah I'd love to see that one. Jones would look flipping fantastic at first but we all know that it's a race to the end bell before Marciano detonated on his glass chin and blew fragments all over the front rows. The longer the fight, the worse for Jones.

When did Jones fade late during his prime?

Not about Jones fading late, it's about Marciano catching up to him.

    King Artur.
Artur Beterbiev would finish what Jersey Joe Walcott didn't finish.

I don't know how many pounds Anthony Yarde weighed here, but it sure isn't 175 :) , and then there's Gvozdyk.
