You guys do fine :good I see it similar to your first assumption. Loughran using his great jab and defensive mindset to outbox Archie. Moore was the better fighter but Loughran was lighter on his feets, faster and would annoy Moore with his jab.
You could say Moore knew how to deal with this type of fighter and he got the better of Johnson in their series who is a bit similar to Loughran in that he had a great jab and was a counterpuncher but imo Loughran´s jab was better than Harold´s and he was more defensive minded which would make a difference here.
    Loughran by decision.

I know how great Tunney and Greb are, I just truly believe that Moore's the man for the job, Tommy's very effective and is a head ache stylistly for anyone, but I feel that Moore's has the answer for Tommy's style, he's, great at slipping shots, great defense, great a cutting of the ring, great at picking his shots when got a man on the rope's, and one of the most smartest ring genral's of all time's.

I just think Achie's that good.

Thanks bodhl. Very good on all your points statd their about Harold Johnson. Loughran is definitely more defensive minded, he was a defensive minded boxer whereas Johnson was a pure boxer. There's differences between the two.

I find this fight really difficult myself.

I've defo noted your points on Archie here. But i think Loghran would get an early lead, Moore would come on late and just miss out on a decision.

I'm actually a bit reluctant with that but there we go.

I'm good for another one if you want. I propse a John Conteh fight............

Ok thats fine, but I'm going with a tactical fight very tentative with Tommy using his ring genralship to keep it an outside fight but Moore holding his own and waiting to set up the right hand, I think Moore catches him in the eight round with a overhand right and finishes it, great chess match while last's.

ok Conteh Vs Qawi, what a fight hey :hey

And we have our first split in opinion, very nice! Haha.

Okay then, well in Conteh we have an outstadnig technician. In Qawi we have an aggressive punching type. He's a bit more like Dick Tiger than Joe Frazier in his approach i'd say. Conteh would be tested in a real good fight here. But he would also be able to work his combos on his man who will come to him.

    Any thoughts?

good points, I actually think Conteh is up against it here, Qawi was a brutal fighter at lightheavy strong as a bull, I agree with you that Conteh got to use his boxing skill's to keep it on the the outside, but you know well this fight is not gonna stay as a boxing match ( how could it with these guys ) Qawi is gonna pressure Conteh and Conteh gonna have to stand his ground and earn Qawi's respect, but its dangerous if he trade's to long, he got to mix it up, only stand and fight when needed because I know that Conteh's gritty and tough but I believe Qawi's to strong for him on the inside.

    what you think ?

I'm leaning towards Conteh (there's no Liverpool bias here though, don;t worry!!), he's rugged and tough himself and can definitely do the scoring with eye catching combos as Qawi looks to advance and work. But could Qawi bang him around? That's the real question here imo. If he does that to effect then he'd be looking to leave his stamp all over the fight, and he's an intimidating character in that mode.

I'm leaning towards Conteh slightly though.

I fully understand what your saying, and I know there's no bias, the man was a great fighter and absolutly ruthless in the ring, but he's gonna meet a bad mother****er in Qawi and he ain't gonna be able to box and keep Qawi at range all night, Qawi gonna eventually make Conteh have to stand fight and there's my worry, because I think Qawi will just overpower
him and really do some damage.

    what you think.

Well i think it's a definite classic, i've either got Qawi grinding him down as the fight progresses or Conteh excelling in a war. At the very peak of his powers i reckon Conteh could do it. This is fought at a frenetic pace, really a mouth-watering type fight.

    You thinking Qawi?

yeah I just think that it will be real competive for the first 7 rounds but once Qawi gets on the inside I just think he will overpower Conteh, I think he'll destroy him on the inside, but Conteh is tough, but Qawi is a brutal fighter once he gets you on the ropes.

    what you think

You're really sounding convincing but i'm going to stick to my gut feeling on this one and respectfully disagree.

You got another one in mind?

I know I would like to think Conteh could take it ( I love the guy, absolutly brilliant fighter ) but I'm picturing it in my head and I just think Qawi takes him apart once on the inside.

Qawi by stoppage from any round between 10 - 12

before we move on are you going with Conteh on points

Next Match: Roy Jones Jr Vs Matthew Saad Muhammad

No i've been thinking as i said before about Qawi as the fight progresses and i've got him stopping Conteh late. That's my pick now.

Well i reckon Saad has the power, no doubt in my mind actually, and from an offensive standpoint he's technically sound. But Jones in his prime i reckon would avoid beng stopped and probably stop Saad. I'm predicting a typical Jones performance, staying and outside and exploding with fast powershots that are timed well. Like i say though, Saad is capable of cleaning Roy's clock no doubt.
