Joe Ward has three pro offers on the table and claims he will make a decision as to whether he will ditch the vest or stay amateur over the next few weeks.

The 23 year old southpaw claimed a third European Elite gold in the Ukraine last month a feat which peaked professional promoters interest once again.

The Westmeath man, who has been on promoters’ radars since he burst onto the scene as a teen, has two offers from America and one from the UK on the table.

The talented light heavyweight claims he is now considering his options and will make a decision over his immediate future in the coming weeks.

The decorated Moate man seems tempted by the paid ranks, but also has a desire to improve on the World Championship silver medal he won in 2015.

Ward hints he may stay with the High Performance Unit untill at least after Octobers World Championships.

“Winning a third [European] gold was really special for me, my family, my county and my country,” Ward told the Star.

“There’s so much interest in me turning pro. I’ll have to make a decision in the next week. I’ll either be going to the World Championships or turning pro.”

“It will be very disappointing if I don’t decide to go the World Championships. I’d be fairly confident of winning a medal.”
