Why did the UK get rid of this division ? Or why did amatuer boxing get rid of it ? I also remember at the Four - Nations tourny, a few years ago, there was no Crusierweight division recognised. Is it still like this ( C-W ) and whats the deal ? Also, getting rid of the L-W division, is that not going to make more fighters boil down to Lightweight or adding un-natural muscle to beef up to W-W, causing more risk of damages to fighters etc ? Cheers
Light Welter still exists in the amateurs internationally at least, we still have it in the US. That's odd it's not there. There is no cruiserweight internationally though; in the US it just goes 81kg-91kg-91+kg; and that's the same for AIBA.
we still have 64kg didvision in the amateurs in australia. Its a very common weight i dont see any reason why they would phase out the division. we have 51kg, 54kg, 57,kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg, 75kg,81kg,91kg,91+kg there is too much weight difference between 60kg and 69kg division. They need the 64kg division to give fighters a fair chance.
Hmm im getting things messed up here, appreciate the replys also. I had in my head that Jr Welter was no longer in the U.K. amatuers.......i aint checked though, dunno why the **** am thinking this. :huh
Yeah defo, is the most common average weight too if i remember rightly, hm why am i thinking this aint no more here ( U K )
if i remember correctly there use to be a 67kg division and a 71kg division. They were scrapped years ago.
No 48kg? 71kgs - That's light middleweight. Before they had 63,5kg - 67kg - 71kg, but got rid of one class and made it 64kg - 69kg in order to get less medals at the Olympics, they say.
yeah there is a 48kg division and a maybe a few under that aswell but im not sure exactly what they are.
