Carnera`s clumsy punches were vastly overrated, he certainly did punch with his weight at all.
Well he was probably still better than average for a lineal heavyweight champion.
Total fights 103
Wins by KO 72 His KO percentage was way worse than Tyson Fury`s.
He would knock you out, son.
Using your logic Fury hits harder than Shavers and Mike Tyson then?
James J. Corbett
KO percentage might not be the best way to go about it. Vitali has a huge KO percentage but wasn’t a particularly heavy hitter. Something of an arm puncher
It was a far more brutal sport and safety was in most cases not at the forefront back then. Alot of KOs/TKOs in the present era would have been let go as little as only 40 years ago.
Maybe Mike Moorer?
Carnera: 80% KO ratio
Fury: 70% KO ratio
Bad list, Ruiz had some pop in his right hand.
Wonder why he isn't in the top 100 greatest punchers with stats like that? Must be an oversight.lol
I agree with this.
KO % has more to do with how many tomato cans pad your record, than how hard you actually hit!
We are talking about the least hard hitting lineal champion, between the 1880s and the present day.
I might not be a huge fan of the big heavyweight argument, but I think that it is unlikely to be either Carnera or Fury!
