I'm not aware of many great historical fights at 175 and would like to know your list of the top 10 (or 5) greatest fights at this weight.

moore vs durelle 1 - one of the greatest comebacks
foster vs finnegan - was fight of the yr
saad muhammad vs lopez 2 - was a thriller

there's just a ton of footage we don't have when charles, moore, bivins, marshall and guys like this were in their prime at or near this weight.

Thats what I figured. Its why I'm interested to see if anyone has top 10 lists with some of the great fights not televised. I just found a really good link for Moore-Durelle which I'm definatly going to watch when I wake up. Unrelated but I also found a channel with lots of Sergio Martinez old fights which I might check out.

    Sadd/Matt Franlkin vs Mavin Johnson 1 & 2.

In reality, take all the Top 12 Lightheavies in the 70's & early 80's and mix and match their fights against each other and just about every one were great fights.

These guys weren't afraid to fight each other, as opposed to two "WW's we all know today.

The first Johnson-Franklin fight may be the greatest boxing match I've ever seen. A two sided ass kicking.

John Henry Lewis vs Al Gainer. The first title fight between two black men in a quarter century. Lewis the first black champion to be managed by a black manager (Gus Greenlee). Smooth boxer (Lewis) vs. left-hooking slugger (Gainer). Lewis wins a classic and retains his title.

Their first fight (non-title) in Pittsburgh was the same story. Adding a little extra drama (and rancor) to the mix was Jack Blackburn in Lewis' corner and his hated enemy, Jack Johnson, in Gainer's. Lots of pre-fight trash talk went on, mostly instigated by the two trainers.

    Two great fights.

Julio Cesar Gonzalez-Julian Letterlough was a classic war between two big punching warriors who are sadly no longer with us.

Dennis Andries-Jeff Harding 1-3 was a gruelling trilogy.

Merqui Sosa-Prince Charles William 1 was such a war that the ref stopped it because both guys were taking too much punishment.

    A few others not mentioned;

Foster-Ahumada. And Ahumada-Conteh, come to think of it.

Qawi--Saad 1. A couple of my favorites in that bout. You knew Saad was not going to continue to win all those wars of his. But Qawi didn't even let him start a war and did a dismantling job on par with Douglas/Tyson. He took the guy apart in there. And that was the end of the ballgame for Saad.

How about a shout for Galindez--Johnson? Man, that Johnson never ever took the easy road for his matchmaking. But he got rid of a tough guy in impressive fashion.

Barber--Michalczewski. Everyone forgets about Barber and the guy was the up and comer from that kronk stable at that time. He had what 5 defenses of the title he took over from Moorer? And Dariusz showed there was a new sheriff in town. What a title run Michalczewski went on after this fight and it ruined a good fighter in Barber.

:deal Absolutely. One of the greatest displays of boxing skill ever.
For drama and excitement and a come from behind ko victory, I would nominate Galindez-Kates I.
