A middleweight fighting at HW well, well past your years is never going to come off good no matter how good their defense.

 

My first thought was that this was just a very late acknowledgement of the FX boxing-themed series being canceled.



...which still sucks.

 

Bernard is a bit of a one off in that he's remained very competitive into his later years, there aren't many if any out there who can remain as competitive into their 40s. Toney has also boxed at Cruiser and HW (much of it when he's shot), Bernard has never gone above LHW, taking much bigger punches and on top of that has had 25+ more fights than Bernard.

 

Plus it was an balance knockdown. Toney wasnt really hurt

It's not just boxing Toney has abused his body with steriods, alcohol and probably recreational drugs(I know a snorter when I see one) which also couldn't have helped. Toney has been sounding horring since the Jirov fight so this isn't nothing new. His insistence on sparring rather than doing other training has led to the slurred speech though

 

Those rabbit punches by Peter did not do him any good. It is a known fact that rabbit punches can cause brain damage.

Add to that, years and years of sparring while being fat and out of shape.

 

The amount of neurological damage Toney has is crazy. Really sad to see.

 

He doesnt go road work, he prefers to spar instead.
