I like James Toney, but he's blowing a lot of smoke regarding his weight.

His trainer said it does not matter if he's "209, 220 or 230lbs" which realistically means James Toney is around 235-240lbs as we speak.

 

Yes and he also said that they do not want to discard to much strength in favour for the loss in weight... so yep, the lard is still there, CHECK!!

 

Then he should get into the ring, fight a couple of prospects and then get another eliminator. That's his only chance of ever facing the "Klitschko sisters" as he calls them. Calling them out won't do a thing because he is damaged goods.

I agree. A win over Greek does not warrant a title shot. Toney needs to have one or a couple of decent wins first. I am certain Toney wil fight at least 2 times this year.

Toney fans will probably remain optimistic about his career until he's about 50 years old. It's mystifying.

 

No ..... Klitchko is 209 cm tall, Toney is 175 cm short.

 

Historical precedent.

We have heard it all before from Toney. He has disappointed every time.

Sure it will be great if it is true. It would be great if he got some success because of it. It may inspire other boxers to do the same thing! Look at Chambers, it worked wonders for him.

But until proven otherwise, it is correct to remain skeptical. Toney has let all of his fans down too many times before. I expect him to be fighting from 235-240.
