LIGHTWEIGHT GAVIN REES (Holder) BEN MURPHY v WILLIE LIMOND The Stewards decided to put out the above eliminator contest for purse bids to be submitted in accordance with the Terms and Conditions attached to the Board's Head Office by 12.00noon on Wednesday, 10th October 2012, the contest to take place by the end of December 2012. Looks like this boy from Glasgow is going to get another crack at it :good Terrible thing that Crolla fight, good on him for coming right back at it, just shows what guts and determination he has. Along with the fact his manager can still see there is life in the old dog yet!
Rumours going around that Mathews and Crolla are having a rematch after prizefighter, that would make a better eliminator.
Why?? People like Mathews and John Simpson are prime candidates for getting lots of shots at titles. Lomond hasn't had that many chances to be honest, with this new management team behind him it seems that he is getting the shots he so rightly deserves and if he gets through this eliminator which he will no problem he is more than capable of taking this belt from Rees.
gav's 32 now, cant see him fighting winner of burns v mitchell, unbeaten in 11 its about time he was delivered a world title shot
Even if Ress vacates Limond still gets another shot at the British when he wins eliminator then whether it be Mathews, Crolla,Sykes,Murrray he still wins.
Thought Rees was meant to be fighting for the WBA strap and Matchroom said they were soon to announce news on Rees, all has gone quiet
It was only last week Limond was calling out the winner of Lee McAllister and Eddie Doyle for the Lightwelter Commonwealth title claiming he was now boxing at that weight? I think the problems in the Crolla fight will be there again because I don't think he can make Lightweight properly anymore!! That will be the reason he just couldn't get any rhythm in his boxing that night, if he doesn't have the power to hold Ben Murphy off it could be a hard night for Willie. On the other hand Murphy is not a bad match up in terms of aggression and size to warm up for a bout with Rees.
hahaha!! yeah course he does, he got completely schooled off Crolla in Motherwell. I was there, 120-108, 120-108,120-109 says it all. all of the above beat Leminned
