Golden Boy Promotions has officially announced their April 4th “Lightweight Lightning,” pay-per-view event that will feature eight 135-pounders in four pivotal 135lb match-ups in one night at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. In the main event, undefeated knockout artist Edwin Valero (24-0, 24 KOs) returns to the ring to face hard-hitting Antonio Pitalua (46-3, 40 KOs) in a 12-round championship bout for the vacant WBC interim crown. The co-featured bouts will be former two-time world champion and Olympic gold medalist Joel Casamayor (36-4-1, 22 KOs) against former world champion Julio Diaz (36-4, 26 KOs); former lightweight champion Jesus Chavez (44-4, 30 KOs) against former WBO interim titleist Michael Katsidis (24-2, 20 KOs) and former jr lightweight champs Jorge Barrios (47-4-1, 34 KOs) against and Carlos Hernandez (43-7-1, 24 KOs). Tickets $25-$200 go on sale on Friday (2/27).

Wow are u so excited? Im looking forward to Valero fight but this is another rip off of a PPV. IF it's reasonably priced like $24.99 or even 29.99 id be excited but they'll most likely be in the 50s so **** this. And it wont be replayed either cuz HBO is only distributing it. All three cards look decent except for Hernandez/Barrios.. Hernandez shouldn't be fighting on a PPV card.

Hernandez cries all the time when he losses and i just don't wanna see him anymore. He was once a decent fighter but he's been past it for a long time now and he doesn't deserve to fight on a PPV card. wtf He's going to cry again after getting beat down by Barrios.

Yeah, they need to put in Funeka instead of Hernandez. Also adding Breidis Prescott would make it that much better.

He is. GBP bought the Valero-Pitalau purse bid from the Mexican promoter that won it. Valero will probably bail from the "tournament" after the 1st round, because I would guess Arum has other plans after this.......

Valero is a Top Rank guy. Top Rank is working with Golden Boy for the Pitalua fight. The rest are GB fighters.
