Blackburn is known for his jab and his speed. Whitaker is better in both departments. Blackbrun is tougher all round, but that won't matter in this fight IMO. Whitaker wide despite some close rounds.

I agree that Whitaker would take this one on points, probably would just be better throughout but i also agree on the close parts. Blackburn's aggression behind a jab would be effective somewhat imo, but Whitaker would do more outboxing and outworking of his opponent.

whitikar makes this one look easier a lot easier then it should be .. whitikar might have a time figureing him out earlier but after about 3 rounds he just goes through the motions and takes him the rest of the way .. i see this one going 10-2 /9-3 at the most ..
if whitikar decides to have fun and bang like in the mayweather fight .. it'll be a little closer ..

As McGrain says Blackburn was a quick technical fighter with a great jab.

Pernell is great in them areas too and IMO more well rounded

    Whittaker KO1

Whitaker UD - because we know its going to be Pea-Duran in the final and escalate to a 1001 page thread, I dont know why you dont just bump the last Pea-Duran thread

Yeah thats a good point..but I dont think its without good reason we get to that conclusion.

To tell you the truth there have been some fairly fruitful discussions in these latest round of tourneys..not just the lightweight one but the middle and fly ones aswell.

Does the Pendleton fight hold any relevance here?

Freddie was rangy, less so then Blackburn actually..Ive seen Blackburn's style described as "careful yet aggressive".
Which Freddie could be, though in Pea fight he gave Pernell more trouble just letting his hands go with an assortment of shots.

He really gave a prime Pea one of the harder fights Ive seen him have at lightweight.

Pea being Pea, circling jabbing, doubling up, letting loose a few combinations here and there rarely ever being hit (cleanly anyways). Blackburn has some moments, but not enough.

    Pea clear UD.
