I rate Casamayor's boxing, i think i could just sit and watch him weave his web of southpaw boxing all day. But Williams is just explosive, and believe it or not, i'm going for a similar scenario to the jmm fight, but Williams does it to a prime version of Casamayor very late and clearly behind on points.
Williams definitely has this one. Casamayor is a good boxer, but he is not defensively cute. He gets hit a lot and will pay for it against Williams. Stoppage could come at any time, but saying it comes late is a safe bet.
Williams right hand will land frequently; Casa will be in it but Williams will stop him late (and I rate Joel's chin)
Ike by late ko Casamayor had fine abilities ,but he could be tagged ,you can't give Williams too many openings ,because sooner or later that right will start to land and even a good chin like Casamayor's won't take it all night .Williams might be behind ,but he comes strong and scores a ko in the 11th after a couple of knockdowns.
I agree. There's a gulf in class. Casamayor is really good, Williams, maybe the best composite puncher in the history of the division. I think there's a whirlwind of violence and Williams gets him in the third.
Casamayor comes out strong, scoring & piling up points. Williams bides his time until the late rounds. finally Casa slows down a bit. Williams steps up the pressure. and finally a brutal right ends it in the fourteenth. Williams KO in 14.
It's true that Casamayor's defence is not great, but his style is to keep weaving and moving and his gameplan is to not let you get set to get shots off, a proper boxer, as i said. I still picked Ike though.
Ike by KO. Casa was too slow to really off-set Williams's rhythm. Ike had a very good, steady jab and mid-range game himself, albeit very basic in nature. When he unleashed his hands though, he was a sight to behold. Casa would be facing a better boxer than Corrales, with superior power and far superior offensive efficiency. That doesn't look too good for Casa's corner.
